Is 0.2 the lowest bid for any keyword? I started a compaign and I bid on all keyword for 0.1 and thay are not working. Today, I add keyword "dsjhfiueskuhj" and estimate the bidding cost... I said it have to cost 0.2/click... whats going on?
There are no absolute prices in adwords. The cost of all keywords is made up of a number of factors, including popularity, relevance of ad text and landing page, the 'health' and history of the campaign and ctr. I think the absolute lowest is one unit of your currency - i.e 1 cent or 1 penny. Edit - I just tried adding 'dsjhfiueskuhj' and I've got a minimum bid of 0.03p. I can see I'm going to clean up in the dsjhfiueskuhj market
Looks like you think that you know Google internal algorithm that calculates quality score . But the true is that you have no idea how they calculate quality score.
Could cost you more I did Adwords for an Antispyware software, I targeted the virus names on my keywords, guess what, "MOSH" was a virus name, the PPC for "MOSH" was $12!
Your minimum bid is calculated using your Quality Score, which is (in part at least) based on the relevance of your website to the keyword. Unless you have dsjhfiueskuhj's on your site, Google will think the keyword is irrelevant, and give you a higher minimum bid.
Just to add to CustardMite,, the overall Quality of your landing page also determines the quality score which in turn determines the lower bid... but still,, 0.20 for dsjhfiueskuhj!!! LOLZ!! Weird..to say the least!!
Google's calculations are dumb by human standards. I had a football quiz adgroup and 'Football' had a Poor Quality Score while 'Hard Core Porn', which arrived in the adgroup by mistake, had an OK quality score.
don't know about $ but in Indian Rupees minimum is Rs0.45 which is equal to 1cent & i think this rate is only for google's indian advertisers
