If it will work the same as the Google Serach Engine you won't find your apps in the computer.... Guess you have to index your programs and then do a sitemap for them and then you need to do a search for it, and if you are lucky, you might find the app you were going to use on the 565 page in the index......:D

He he, and if you install Microsoft Office the icons won't appear on your Start Menu until 6-8 months later.

This is an interesting development though and the fact there's 'more to come' should have Microsoft shifting about in their chairs.

I don't really understand ... at the factory level , so if user will install Windows ,Google toolbar will be installed automatically in Internet Explorer ?

Anyway , we will have to create a sitemap in XML submit it to Google Sitemaps and will appear lots of programs with names like :

    word-program-like-notepad-to-edit-documents.exe :D

Also we will have to create shortcuts for them in order to rank them as we want and would be good from other computers (not to be same Class C IPs ) , and software developers will start exchanging shortcuts to their programs . Also new programs added will appear only after 6 months and be carefully with "shortcut farms" and different program versions ... What a hell will be on our HDDs :D

It seems Google has partnered with Dell so all new machines have Googles tools and also IE home page is a co-branded Dell/Google page.

I like those tools... But I always wipe new PCs clean if they come preloaded with a lot of junk... No need to slow down a new PC.

This is a good answer to Microsoft's default MSN SE in the new IE, Well done Google. Never guessed Google would do this.

I wrote about the deal yesterday on my blog. I think Google made a really smart move.

Dell will be selling millions of computers and Google's software will be on them. Now there are super computer literate geeks like us, but the majority will begin using the software out of convenience.

Remember how IE got so popular. Microsoft bundled it with Windows. Google is kinda doing the same thing. I also believe that this deal is gonna make Google come out with more computer related software.

And I also don't think Mr. Gates is happy.

I was working for Dell here in India and we guys were told that Bill Gates and Michael Dell are good friends. Maybe this move was from Kevin Rollins, the new CEO of Dell.

Im sure MS is not happy though still MS is the OS of other computer brands. I think this is a result of a failed lawsuit of Google on Microsoft

Who use a DELL anyway!! Like I said in my post yesterday (not sure where it went...?) that we probably have to send all our info to Google and have our hard drives indexed and then go search for it and if we are lucky they might have indexed our HD's so we can find the app we want to use.....
You'll probably have their Ads as a desktop item that you can't remove without paying extra for it......

Hey, I use a dell now!
Got to say, it was a joy right out of the box.
Of course, a ton of dell crap on it, but just deleted the stuff I did not want.

Saw in the paper yesterday (you know that stuff made from trees?) that
the Iowa Cubs are hosting the Round Rock baseball team here for a few days.
Dell did do a good job on the baseball team there in Round Rock, nice stadium, etc.

Dell has to do something, and partnering with google is a good first step.
Their stock, their sales, profit, etc has been hammered this year so far.

    Compaq is owned by HP.
HP is moving up now that they have a new CEO.
Unless dell does something real quick, HP will surpass them.

Dell did buy alienware, so they now have access to some nice looking cases.
And their new laptops are getting colorized to make them stand out.

Our office is full of Dells, various friends and family members (who are of less PC savvy than myself) own Dells, and my now former high school and colleges all had nothing but Dells.

Dell has a contract with everyone :p

I think the US Government buys a bunch of their computers from Dell, as well. Probably other governments buy computers there, too. Since Google lost its fight to prevent "Live" from being the default on the "Vista" operating system, they did the next best thing or as I put it they went to "Plan B".
