Completely agree with what you said :) No need to be paranoid - just follow the TOS and ask Google if not sure.

this is not worth the risk...

move the ads away from the picture or put a thin text buffer between them, a single short sentence like "Hire our models!!!"

empty space as buffer won't be enough

I sent this Saturday evening at 8:00pm pacific time. This is the 3rd e-mail I have sent to them.

***This is the third e-mail I am sending. I have not received a reply on the first two so I thought I would send another. I have been in Digital Point Forums and the Google Adsense Blog with this question about my placement of my ads on my index page of http://www.mandarichmodels.com. Some feel it doesn't violate the TOS policy about units by images. Some feel it does violate. I am bringing this to your attention so I (and we here in the forums) can hear it from GOOGLE DIRECTLY. I obviously don't think there is any violation as I have placed the ads there. Please let me know if it is acceptable because if it is NOT ACCEPTABLE I WILL CHANGE IT as I don't want to be banned. I feel I am doing the right thing here by asking for this info through this e-mail. Thank You for your time & review. I look forward to your reply.

    Tony ;~)***

You have to put a CLEAR demarcation between the image and the ads. It may be a straight line etc.

    If it ain't broke.... lol

Seriously though, BRA-VO on your success! I really do feel you're not violating anything because the models do NOT look like part of an ad, especially for a photography studio's site. What you're doing makes sense, but at the same time thanks for going the extra mile for not only yourself, but everyone here who can learn from the experience. This is a prime example of the benefits of using DP. :)

out of curiosity....i thought blending the ads to make look like they're regular links on the site is against TOS?

G sucks. What else can you say? The have the worst customer support system of any company that I have ever dealt with in my entire life. How do they get away with it? It's easy when you are the monopoly. What a freaking shame. They couldn't even answer a straight forward question that would help a lot of their customers.
