Issue With Google Listing

    Hi,

    When I search google.co.uk with the search term 'mens underwear' I am listed at the top, but google provides a very perculiar result for me and lists the title and description of my site as follows;

    mens underwear
    Basket somehow already exists. Please contact Giggleberries. BasketID is : 43982_414875_3.
    www.giggleberries.co.uk/ - Cached - Similar

    However, when I search google.com I am listed on average around SERP10 and yet google correctly displays my title and descriptions as;

    Mens Underwear, Male Underwear | Buy Designer Men's HOM Underwear ...
    Men's + Male Underwear - Free delivery on boxer shorts, briefs for men, mens thongs + mens underwear. Buy Now!
    www.giggleberries.co.uk/

    Why is google.co.uk displaying this information when it lists my site?

    Thanks

    Just a guess but I reckon when googlebot spidered your site it has somehow picked up a description tag or title tag from an on-line shopping basket?

    Go into your google webmaster tools and see if it can tell you what the problem is. Get it re-indexed and hopefully the problem should sort itself out.

    Quickest way to re-index would be to put a social bookmark down on Digg or one of the other top level sites.

    Yes right.. google will re index it and it will be fine. re submit site map and do some social boomarking for quick re indexing.

    Hmm.. Naughty boy,were you cloaking your website? =P
    It takes days or even weeks for google to re-index it.

    There was once my muscle related website, I accidentally changed the title to "money" and it was stuck in the SERP for weeks. Damn..

    I have had to google 'cloaking' to learn what it means. I have worked hard to achieve the SERP results for my site and always ensure I adhere to 'whitehat' methods.

    I am assuming that the method of 'cloaking' a site would need to be done in the backend at a programing level, which I do not have access to.

    Is there anyway I can check to make sure this has not inadvertantly taken place?

    I have just checked my site with several cloak checker tools and no cloacking is detected on my site and so i am inclined to go with geezer466 advice.

    My site is usually indexed every 5 days so hopefully it will sort itself out.
