We're have an issue in Firefox with this page: http://www.learnoutloud.com/welcome.php?from=123 It's a login/register page that users go to but when either logging in or registering it prompts a pop up "Confirm Password Change" and then shows a bunch of usernames. For some reason it's taking this page for a change password page. The user can then just click Cancel and proceed but it's confusing and annoying. Of I course think you have to have username/passwords saved into Firefox in order for this to happen but most Firefox users do. How do we stop Firefox from doing this?
the problem is NOT firefox NOR your page it is your OWN firefox in my ffx that page = all works perfect YOU have too many different passords on your OWN web site and firefox has no clear instruction which password/user combination to use for THAT particular page hence YOUR firefox prompts you for any of the usernames YOU use on your own site - as soon as YOU type your username correctly - then ff will most likely insert the correct pwd i have the same situation with many forums and other login pages - ff offers the choice of user - then adds the correct pwd 2 solutions 1. clear ALL pwd / all cookies from your own site in your ff or 2. just know that user YOU have on a particular page on your site and type it in and you'll most likely never have a wrong pwd inserted by ffx
Thanks Hans. I think I understand now. I cleared out my passwords and it worked fine. I had too many passwords saved for our site and that won't be an issue for any other users so I guess it's not an issue.
