The main reason why they hate them so much is that they support Israel and give them weaponry and support their PR campaign. Look at the movie and I found out they give them close to $12 billion each year and not including the F16's and other warheads.

They hate America for their association with Israel. Another link I found concerning the history can be found here at the UN

then you hate america and support terrorists

    critize anything israel does

then you are anti-semtic and support terrorists

Christians and Jews 100% right all the time

Muslims 100% wrong all the time

You might as argue with some shit stained bum in the park, he would probably be more insightful

As a rule, I generally avoid political discussion on forums such as DP, but I feel compelled to add a little bit more of information, as opposed to the link I posted above.

After World War 2, a decision was reached where the British Mandate on Palestine would come to a close, on May 14, 1948. The partition plan was approved by the Jewish Agency at the time, which represented the quasi-government of the Jewish People in Israel underneath British Rule.
The Jews were just as happy to finally have their government in a country that they and their ancestors had belonged to since the days of Abraham.

The Arab nation roundly rejected plan, and at the end of the mandate declared war on the brand-new State of Israel (which, as an aside, was recognized by President Truman within 24 hours of her founding). The Arabs expected to beat the pants off the Israelis, but were ultimately defeated, and the Jews received more land then they would have gotten in the partition. What is today known as the Golan Heights, the West Bank and The Gaza Strip remained in Syrian, Jordanian, and Egyptian hands, respectively.

Many Arabs, during the War of Independence, fled Israel to neighboring Arab countries, and have never come back.

In 1967, war broke out between Egypt, Jordan, and Israel. In Six days the Israelis managed to Capture the Sinai Desert (which would be returned later in peace accords with Egypt), the Golan Heights, the West Bank and Gaza, along with the many "Palestinian" Arabs who lived there.

These Arabs have sinced been classified as "Refugees" and lived under the administration of the Israeli Military until the Oslo accords between the PLO and the State of Israel in the early 1990's.

The word Refugee is somewhat of a misnomer. The Palestinians have been kept in Squalor not for lack of a place to go, but because no other Arab government wants them. In the 1970's Jordan carried out a massive purge of Palestinian Arabs living in Jordan, in what is known as "Black Sunday". The Arabs are afraid of more trouble, and it fits their needs to point to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict so as to remove attention to their misdeeds (Iran and the bomb, Syria in Iraq, etc..).

Regarding Israeli oppression of Palestinians: I know this is a touchy subject (that resides within a touchy subject), but I must point out the following:
No other country in the world would tolerate what has happened to the Israeli population for so long a time, and no other government would react with restraint the way the government of Israel has done consistently.

Yes, innocent people have been killed. And Yes, many homes have been bulldozed, and yes, it is not an easy life for the Palestinian Arabs in Israel.
But there is a reason for it: The Government of Israel has a responsibility first and foremost to her citizens, and must take actions neccesary to protect them. When the same population consistently presents a direct threat to those citizens, then obviously measures will be taken which may affect innocent members of that population. Keep in mind that out of this population come men, women and children who blow themselves up on crowded buses, snipe at Israeli soldiers, plant bombs, and murder civillians overseas, among other things.

In any event, the Israeli "occupation" will continue so long as the population within the territories continues to be a clear and present danger to the residents of the State of Israel.

For more information, I suggest looking at WikiPedia and other internet sources. Here is a link to start with: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israeli-Palestinian_conflict

What is happening in Israle right now, is WHAT HAPPENED IN AMERICAs. Including NORTH AND SOURTH AMERICA. NATIVE PEOPLE ARE MINORITY DUE huge immigration influx (basically stealing their LAND with support of GUNS, back then). Now natives are given RESERVE LAND (tiny DOT).

BUT WHO SAYS, native people are the first one in Americas. HUMANS ARE JUST LIKE ANIMALS, THEY GO WHERE EVER THEY WANT, SO NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO CLAIM ITS THEIR LAND.

STRONGEST (military wise before, and now MONEY) MAKES THE RULES, WEAK OBEY BY IT. AND some members of the WEAK COMMUNITY, OUT OF DESPERATION, TAKE TO VIOLENCE, SUCH AS SUICIDE BOMBING. There is no justice. WEAK ALWAYS WANT JUSTICE. SO DON'T BE WEAK.

The Jews ruled over Israel long before Muhammad was in diapers, friend.

Historical and biblical evidence clearly indicates Jewish control over the land of Israel from at Least the 7th Centure BC.

Islam did not exist until the 6th century. There were Arabs before hand, but they certainly did not rule anything.

Check your facts before you decide who is native and who is not.

    That movie is VERY biased.

I like the way it starts: "following a war between isreal and the countries of syria, jordan, and egypt, israeli military occupied the west bank (etc.)"... it dosen't mention that this war was not a mutual conflict...

The governments of all of those countries conspired to ATTACK Israel, and try to wipe it off the map. It wasn't a war between israel and the surrounding countries... it was israel which was being attacked.

What most people don't know is that there is massive anti-semitism; not only in direct link to the state of israel. During the second world war, Hitler sought to spread 'jew-hatred' in the middle east. The current situation in israel is, at least partly, influenced by nazi propaganda.

he's as biased as the movie. It's a really really bad movie!

They insist on the term "occupation"

they show people not being allowed through the checkpoints, and stopping medical aid. But WHY does the israel military do that? Simply because when there were no checkpoints, when there was no wall, there were hundreds of israelis being killed by muslim suicide bombers.

they refer to anti-israeli organizations as 'progressive'...
and pro-israeli organizations as a conspiring organisations

    Just look at your poll:

I think that the Palestinians are TERRORISTS trying to KILL jews!
I see that the Isreali OCCUPATION as something INHUMANE and should be stopped!

    Come on...

Zach, great comments! It's a refreshing change of opinion that has been sorely lacking in this part of the forum. Well done!
