Israel to open 'humanitarian corridor' for Gaza

    CNN Reports:

Israel offers short respites from strikes:

Israel has also said that if in those three hours Hamas shoots a single rocket or attacks Israeli soldiers - the whole thing is canceled and Israel will attack again. Hamas is the Palestinian government - if they really care about the Palestinians, I'd expect them not to attack or think about attacking in those three hours, every day.

Israel does care about the humanitarian issues, but the current situation in Gaza is complicated. As soon as Hamas is out of the equation peace will be a step closer to happen, and we'll all stop posting "Die Israel" and "Kill Hamas" messages.

Wow stopping bombardment for 3 whole hours? How generous.

That's a great idea, letting them have food while you bomb them.

Here's a better idea, why don't they just let civilians, at least women and children out safely? Did anyone stop to consider that?

    Guess not.

Of course they are going to fire rockets whenever they please.

I wonder when Israel will get over this Im-Your-Parent-So-You-Must-Be-Punished attitude - no people can be expected to act peacefully when they are under some other nations thumb like that.

Probably what will happen is they will bomb the refugees once they are all in, they seem to like children and teachers dead. Then they will claim intel told them a hamas leader was in there.

Were you referencing the bombardment hamas has been doing to Israel, over three thousand rockets and mortars over the last year, or Israel, for standing up and fighting back.

Probably Israel, huh? Haven't seen much, if any, condemnation for hamas. Posting patterns seem to tell the story these days.

Didn't take long for hamas to "frick it up" again, eh?

Please tell me why Gaza's unemployment rate is 40% and why 80% of the population relies on food handouts from humanitarian organizations - and its been like this for years??

Do you think the rockets could have anything to do with the prison walls that surround Gaza and the firing is symbolic in nature, or do you honestly feel that Hamas thinks its going to destroy Israel with those tinker toys ?

Do you honestly think Hamas is just bluffing when their charter calls for the destruction of Israel?

Do you honestly think if Israel were not controlling the border and imports into Gaza that Hamas would be limited to just rockets?

You know that Hamas seeks more and more powerful weapons. I guess you just expect Israel to say, "hey no problem you want to destroy us, go ahead and import whatever you want from Iran, its all good." People like you pretend Israel is just doing this for fun, as though their very existence is not dependent on actions like these. It is not Israel who is sworn to Palestinians destruction, it is the Palestinian government, Hamas, that is doing the threatening and openly, repeatedly, and shamelessly calls for Israel's destruction - as do many disgusting members here on DP. But Hamas is not just a keyboard warrior, they are actively trying to harm Israel. What government thinks it can attack its neighbor with impunity?

If Israel were to just allow Hamas to do whatever, at some point, it will be too late and Israel will not be able to save itself. I know many here want that to happen. That is why they continue to support Hamas and tolerate the resulting Hamas abuse of the Palestinian people - it is all for the cause of destroying Israel. Sorry the Israelis are intent on not being destroyed.

Fatah had same chater too but they removed it. Correect me if I am wrong.

Hamas don't smuggle weapons from Israel and Israel don't control border between Gaza and Egypt. Israeli blockade of Gaza is useless when comes to smuggling weapons in Gaza. Correct me if I am wrong.

What does the fact that palestinians are more concerned with killing Jews than being a productive part of a civilized society have to do with hamas firing rockets into Israel repeatedly?

I'll entertain, though. Previously covered in 2007. Now, tell me why every time palestinians get aid, get money (from the US as well, might I add), is that money squandered?

Israel made something of itself. But then again, their goal wasn't the massacre of an entire human race.

No, I don't. There are no prison walls. However, some walls were constructed to keep out savages who had a continuing long history of coming across boarders and blowing themselves up, taking innocent Jews with them, because some sexually frustrated youth was promised 72 virgins.

But I bet you hadn't considered how living life that would truly suck?

Yes, it's clear to see you are not "taking sides." ;)

Starting to see a pattern, yet?

hamas smuggles weapons from Egypt. Well, they used to ;) Looks like that shit's going to come to a screeching halt, finally.

Maybe Israel can finally get some peace.

No, I believe them but if things were going differently in Gaza I don't believe they would be in power right now.

Well lets look at what happend here.

Israel tightens borders, doesn't even let aid in the majority of the time.

Gaza hungry for food and supplies is forced to dig tunnels to Egypt.

    Rockets flow into Gaza uncontrolled.

Was it really the smartest move? I don't think so.

Its true Hamas seeks more powerful weapons, I don't argue with the fact that they are on a mission to destroy Israel.

Remember the blockade has been up before Hamas came to power. I imagine part of the reason they were elected was because of the blockade and the hunger of the people, as well as how corrupt Fatah is - so there really isn't any other choice.

If Israel wasn't so heavy handed then I really wouldn't be able to see much support for a group like Hamas to rise to power.

What Israel needs to do is lift the blockade and let good supplies flow into the country. I could care less if they check everything that goes in and out of Gaza, more power to them if they stop weapons going in.

However, the fact of the matter is that they even block aid trucks trying to deliver supplies to Gaza and they've been doing that for years. This isn't acceptable when we have starving people in Gaza, and this above all else is an act of war.

Similar when the USA started in on Iraq - why did al-Qaeda's recruitment and fundraising efforts get a major boost by the invasion?

lol what? So out of the entire population of Gaza, what percentage of them do you think spend their time firing off rockets in Israel. Maybe 1% at best ? Your racism clouds your judgement - just because they have brown skin doesn't mean they're all "savages".

Any sane person would rather live in Israel than Gaza, that's for sure. I'm sure you hadn't considered how you would feel with no food in your stomach as Israel blocks humanitarian aid trucks just miles away?

We can agree on that. I certainly wouldn't want to live with a bunch of sexually frustrated terrorists that hide behind women and children to conduct their religious missions.

I'd be pretty pissed off if a bunch of terrorists were hijacking food supplies and aid intended to go to my family, then turned around and offered to sell it to make a profit.

    http://www.ynetnews.com/Ext/Comp/ArticleLayout/CdaArticlePrintPreview/1,2506,L-3651783,00.html

I suppose it's Israel's fault for attempting to deliver aid, only to have it stolen by terrorists who are supposed to be governing people and sell it to them instead? Yeah, I know the answer

As usual, no scorn for hamas with all blame going to Israel, despite it providing humanitarian assistance, for hamas' actions. Still taking "no sides?"
