1) Jordan is Palestine - Jordan is the western portion of the Bristish Manadate of Palestine-Trans-Jordan. Jordan became independent in 1947 and annexed the West bank in March 1949.
2) Gaza - 60% of Gazans can trace their ancestors to Egyptian Migrant workers that came to the area in the period between the world wars in search of work.

I see you and New have the same talking points sheet. When you say sanctions, you are talking about sanctions against Israel. If you want "massive external pressure" that will resolve the conflict, that would mean pressure on BOTH sides. That would mean independent peace keeping forces and a long term occupation, with a path to Palestinian independence as a reward for good behavior. It would mean an end to settlements, an end to human and arms smuggling tunnels to egypt, an end to rocket fire, and an end to Iranian and Syrian influence.

Of course the Palestinians themselves would never have it. They would start throwing rocks at the Peace Keeping forces, regardless of where they hailed from. They would call them racist and oppressors. Of course it would set their propaganda machine back a decade or so, since they would have to cook up new stories. On the bright side, only Gaza and the West Bank would have to be occupied, since Israel is at peace with itself. Like I said, I love the idea. I think Britain should undertake the task, since they helped create the mess in the first place.
