Anyone with any common sense is saying that. The Iranians have made little effort to hide their lust for murder and mayhem. Ummm.... kid... Iraq not only developed WMD, they actually utilized WMD -- upon their own citizens. This isn't a theory, this is historical fact. Y'all need to listen to less propaganda. Reality exists independently of your feelings towards it.
Why should they be worried? Consider all they have to look forward too, if only they murder enough Jews before they exit: "Nobody who enters Paradise will ever like to return to this world even if he were offered everything, except the martyr who will desire to return to this world and be killed 10 times for the sake of the great honour that has been bestowed upon him." "They shall recline on jewelled couches face to face, and there shall wait on them immortal youths with bowls and ewers and a cup of purest wine (that will neither pain their heads nor take away their reason); with fruits of their own choice and flesh of fowls that they relish. And theirs shall be the dark-eyed houris, chaste as hidden pearls: a guerdon for their deeds... We created the houris and made them virgins, loving companions for those on the right hand..."
blah blah blah. just incase some one has missed the news, it seems that a thawing of the US iranian relashions happening. I think that there has been agreements behind the scene and we will see a breakthrough sooner and later. Lebenon compromise govt is an example of this new approach.
However you want to communicate how great heaven is to your people doesn't make any difference to me - heaven is still heaven. Don't make any mistake about it. Suicide bombers don't kill themselves for the virgins. They kill themselves because they are pissed. There may be some payment for their families involved, but I really doubt greed has any factor in it whatsoever (whats the point of being greedy when you're dead?).
Re-read the chapter on negotiating with totalitarian governments from Barry Goldwater's Conscience of a Conservative. It's pretty clear and concise in explaining just how useless this is going to be. The Iranians have already said that everything we want (peace) is off the table and non-negotiable. But, they love to talk in order to buy time until they finish their nukes.
This coming from chickenhawks who are quite about making "treaty" with North Korea. USA government has proved to the world that they don't care about the type of government in other countries and they will try to bully the non nuclear countries while they will put their tail between their legs and run away, as soon as a country goes nuclear.
gworld, that post didn't make any sense at all. Are you drinking again? The US government has shown time and again that we have a deep moral concern for the types of governments that humans across the globe are forced to live under. From our liberation of Europe in the 1940's to our defense of South Korea in the 1950's to our failed defense of South Vietnam in the 1960's and 1970's, to our liberation of Kuwait in the 1990's and our liberation of Afghanistan and Iraq in this century -- the people of the United States have given their lives and their fortunes for their fellow men. But we are men ourselves and not Gods. We can't fight every battle. We had to let tens of millions of our brothers and sisters be murdered under the totalitarian regimes of the Soviet Union and Communist China because liberating them was not within our power. Similarly, we are not able to help our brothers in North Korea -- at this time. So, we wait. We wait until Kim Jong Il dies and passes the torch to a new leader -- hopefully one with less maniacal ambitions for domination over his fellow men. But while we wait, we also accept the challenge of containing Kim's destruction to the borders of North Korea. To that end, we maintain a troop presence in South Korea and we negotiate with Kim to keep him from amassing weapons of mass destruction which may be used by him or his successors. The men and women of the United States have stood up and accepted the responsibility of being peacekeepers for the entire world. It's not an easy job and we screw it up from time to time. It's a job that we are doing because no one else can and no one else will. As Winston Churchill said, ""The price of greatness is responsibility." Of course, Churchill was merely echoing the words of Jesus "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more."
hey you talk just like an expert in this cases thats so sweet that we have such users here and my opinion : there wont be a war (at least i wish this not happen) and all discussions about war are just some useful strategies to show the power ,change the oil price and make iran gov stop it's nuclear studies well iran gov didnt so just 1 benefit was that: you know the oil price at the moment ! and about the agreements behind the scene between iran and usa gov google it now, usa has increased its export to iran after president bush has appeared
LOL. Are you stupid or just blind? This kind of claim about a country which has supported most of brutal and corrupt dictatorships in the last 6 decades is quite funny. I suppose USA has also made the school of America that teaches the art of establishing death squads and effective methods of torture to local military of different dictatorships, for the benefit of local people in the poor countries.
like how our current policy has produced such a great result. Just because you and Barry Goldwater doesn't know how to negotiate it does not mean that negotiation is not going to work. it means we need a diffrent approach and that is why we need obama so people with your kind of ideas[neocons] won't get back in the WH. We need to negotiate with iranians with the goal to make their nuclear activity transparent. this could produce the result that we want and might be something that we can succesfully negotiate.
I saw those lines, but Zimbabwe is under-armed and I honestly believe Mugabe would have little support once someone decided to intervene. I don't think it would be even 10% of the battle that Afghanistan or Iraq is. The problem is, they don't have oil.
Zimbabwe is not and has not threatened US interests. Afghanistan did and has no oil. Hard to support your case the US only moves for oil. We move if it is in our National interest. I love how all these people who complain about US intervention also complain about US non-intervention. Hypocrites.
Very true man. It seems that their complaining has an emotional basis, not a rational one. They just feel the need to complain about anyone who is doing anything -- perhaps to make their own pathetic lives feel less pathetic. They seem to have an unending need to tear down anything good. When everything good has been torn down, all good and evil will be equal. Nothing will be good and nothing will be evil. Only then will they feel that they themselves are equal to the greatest achievements of humanity. Of course, they could just quit being wussies. They could work hard and work smart and make something of themselves. They could make themselves better instead of simply trying to shit on everything else. But, alas, that would take effort and it would require self-esteem. If they were capable of those things, they wouldn't be in the sad emotional situations they are in now.
