Not having the votes means they were denied membership by the U.N. You are now trying to argue semantics and you are clearly losing that argument. you lost this one - give it up.

The only way to find out if they'll get the votes is to let the UN GA and the UN SC vote.

Sorry, but you are wrong. As you can see from the above article, Palestine was able to find out if they got the votes BEFORE thee United Nations Security Council voted.

I actually do care if Palestine becomes a state. I would like to see it happen, NOT for the wackos that want to attack Israel, but for the common Palestinians, parents with children. I think it will help give those good people a sense of permanence.

Some countries said they'll vote "for"/"against/"veto"/"abstain" before the actual voting. Obama in particular threatened to veto. It's just politics. The whole "I'm going to the UN and get full membership" is politics too. The idea was to get Netenyahu back to the negotiating table. It seems Abbas is at it again this year, this time trying to get an upgrade on Palestine's current membership.

The reason why I don't want Palestine to become a member is because then they'll have to play by UN rules. This the problem with the UN. I prefer that Palestinians have a long armed struggle with Israel, it doesn't matter if this struggle takes 10 or 100 years. Those who don't fight for their rights, don't have any.

 

A Palestinian state already exists. It has embassies in over 130 countries.
