It's common knowledge around Indonesians what happened and except you every Indonesian I have spoken to about this told me. Sure, there is no film footage and it's all verbally passed on throughout the generations.

But let me correct myself here: The majority converted voluntarily.

They publicly beheaded everyone who refused to comply and it sent a message causing the masses to mindlessly accept the new rule of Islam.

    Nope never lied.
I actually hold back a little out of politeness, which of course is a word you wouldn't understand if I explained it to you for the next 10 years.
But here is one for you. A little quiz:
What happened a couple years ago to the then only Synagogue in Indonesia (country of 250 Million)? The one in Surabaya?

You turned out to people who knowingly and conclude something that is not necessarily correct the situation.
You must know, There would be no place for a synagogue in our country. we would never open diplomatic relations with Israel, where people who shed blood in Palestine.

    Two questions:

    1) You realize allowing a synagogue in your country has nothing to do with diplomatic relations with Israel, right?
    2) Why would you not allow a synagogue in your country? Islam does not forbid peace with the Jews.

And who decides that? The clerics or the government which prides itself in "unity in diversity"?

Beats me. Especially if everyone in that community is as peacefully motivated as your avatar. I'm not going to link to the posts, because I am tired. People who are interested can google it themselves. In the name of the tranquility your picture represents, it's really not too hard to guess what happened to the synagogue though.

And by the way: I see huge potential for Indonesia. But I also see how self sabotaging the community can be. And it doesn't help to use religion to advocate hatred towards people.

This thread has been started for communication purposes and not a propaganda tool. If you don't like transparency, then message boards may not be the best environment for you.

So please stop sabotaging other people's discussions. I am sure there are many Muslims here who are interested in helping people from different boxes understand one another better. And if you are so afraid to watch other Muslims express their thoughts, then you are better off in Aceh.

Aceh (pronounced [ʔaˈtɕɛh], generally anglicized as /ˈɑːtʃeɪ/) is a special region (daerah istimewa) of Indonesia, located on the northern tip of the island of Sumatra. Its full name is Daerah Istimewa Aceh (1959–2001), Nanggroë Aceh Darussalam (2001–2009) and Aceh (2009–Present). Past spellings of its name include Acheh, Atjeh and Achin. The Aceh province has the highest proportion of Muslims in the country with regional levels of Sharia law.[4]

You can be as fanatic as you want there without hurting Indonesia's tourism.

Isn't that why the province is allowed to have Shariah law to begin with?

Agreed good post. Islam is tolerant and has always lived side by side with other faiths peacefully.

We currently live in a time of intolerance which people of ALL faiths are exploiting its not prone to one faith.
