    Christianity: 2,100,000,000 – 2,200,000,000
    Islam: 1,300,000,000 – 1,600,000,000
    Irreligious/Agnostic/Atheism: 1,000,000,000 - 1,600,000,000
    Hinduism: 950,000,000 – 1,200,000,000

If you go by Wikipedia statistics of world religious beliefs, it looks like adherents of islam are closer in number to those with Irreligious/Agnostic/Atheist beliefs. Over time, I do believe the numbers of Irreligious/Agnostic/Atheist will surpass islam. Islamic world domination, it's not a rational possibility. It's not going to happen in the US, and certainly you don't believe China or Russia will support Islam as the dominant religion? One of the greatest weakness' of your religion is that it was created for life in the 7th century, and it appears to be having great difficulty in adapting to modern times. Which is one reason, among several, that I see it as more likely to decay.

ok, fine if I show the other statistics you would be trying to break it. OK I will take your data !! On your statistic--be sure as Everything you want to say as anything about the number of ISLAM's embraces, the statistics you mentioned about Islamic religion remains the second largest religion. and the critical point is, the number of registration was not a delusion as you say before. the problem would be too by atheists as yet unproven, and the number is not very significant

if you thinking Islam is not a modern religion., I prove it to you, Who have a building like this.....it it from your land? ha....ha...ha

I am very familiar with Jakarta, Indonesia, and though Indonesia has beautiful parts, for the most part its citizens are dirt poor.

So while your pictures are nice and places like Bali are an excellent location to visit, the country in itself has been far behind the world's average when it comes to income, health care and such.

Another thing Indonesia doesn't have is retirement, so when you get old and have nobody support you, you're screwed.
And then there is the high level of corruption.
But of course, this has nothing to do with Islam. Neither my picture or yours.

But since most here are not familiar with Indonesia and I am, I figure I put things into perspective. From what I have seen, about 3 percent of Indonesia resemble the pictures you've shown and about 40 percent resemble what I've shown, with the rest being somewhere in the middle but further from your pictures than mine.

Ha.....ha...ha thank u for visiting us.....another land in my country have many beautiful building and natural panoramic...
regardless of what you say about poverty, each country must have the poor people ... no matter how prosperous the country's rich ...... They have a poor citizen. But regardless of what you say ....all picture all example...which I describe that Islam is not an ancient religion and not follow the development of the modern era ..... All the picture before was ever evidence that the progress of development in Moeslim countries can become a modern .....look like read what Rebecca said:

Sincerely, the pictures are nice. Though it's not the physical, material that I was speaking of. For some reason, this is hard to explain for me. Let me try. When I think of islamic civilization, it seems in a state of arrested development. Many islamic countries that do have wealth, have it simply because of oil on the land.

I do not see much in the way of creativity, scientific innovation, discovery, inventions. The focus seems to be primarily on religion, and it seems to be in a way that pushes humanity to the back seat. I think of things like the lack of equal rights for women, stoning adulterers, cutting of hands, killing apostates, oppression of freedom of speech, honor killings, blasphemy laws, theocracy rule, strict dress codes, and so forth.

If you read the religious text of any of the abrahamic religions, it does seem like they were often brutal patriarchal societies. However, to a greater extent, judaism and christianity seems to have let that go. Does that make sense? It's sort of like keeping what's good, but getting rid of the hurtful things. It's like placing a human being at a higher value than words in a book. It doesn't feel like islamic civilization has done that yet, to value a human being even more than the quran. Maybe they never will.

It's something I think of, even in this thread where a poster was making death threats over simple words. Like the Danish cartoonists threatened with death. Riots over words, movies, and any perceived insult to your book. For us, one of the most precious things is freedom of speech, questioning ideas constantly, it helps us to advance. For muslims it seems to be encouraged to not question, to follow, with fear of oppression for changing your religion, questioning what the quran says. Yet, we think that's healthy.

I hope you understand, none of this is directed to you in a personal way. It's nice to have a civil conversation. I could probably think of additional things, but it's late.

Actually, Bali is not Muslim which, in my opinion, is one of the reasons it is a nice place to visit. I've been through much of Java, and the surrounding islands, and it is a fairly violent dump. Bali is like a shining jewel amongst the Indonesian Island chain, and it has a lot to do with the attitudes of the people who live there.

That is exactly right. Neither Malaysia or Indonesia are under Muslim rule, though Indonesia has traditionally had more Muslim violence(riots, bombings, etc). Even if they were, the ability to build an impressive building has nothing to do with the religion of the land, and everything to do with the amount of wealth in the nation, and how it is spent. That is why Muslim places like Dubai and Saudi Arabia have some very impressive construction from oil and investment wealth, and places like Afghanistan have nothing at all. If you want a real measure of the wealth of a nation, look at the quality of life of an average citizen. If you want a measure of the impact of Islamic law on the citizens, look at statistics about the abuse of women, and the culture of racial hatred.

It is telling the churches always look nice, even in the poorest of nations. In Morroco, the mosques are the only maintained and good looking buildngs in the country.

Malaysia has a thriving middle class, in spite of a large (+60%) Muslim presence. They are an exception to the rule. I'm not going to waste time looking it up, but I would assert that any country with 90% or greater Muslim population also has 90% or greater under the poverty level. Prove me wrong.

or you can check here http://www.1001inventions.com/1001inventions and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inventions_in_medieval_Islam.

maybe seems I have to give my own country for example which blogmaster said corruption and poor. Our country with large moeslem in the world have:

Freedom of opinion which we did not do, all of free speech in our country.
-> instead of the people you are the many policies that do not give democracy, example: Prohibit in law Using hijab ban for female Muslims in Christian countries / europe, really a reversal of your facts. man wearing a beard is considered a terrorist ... whether it is called freedom .... it's nonsense.

If these kind of people are increasing then there are so many reasons for that. When we talk about suicide bombers, we just curse them without knowing the actual root cause of it How and Why these people are emerging in our society and in every part of the world. We just love to blame MUSLIMS for everything... Always keep in your mind, HOLOCAUST was not done by a MUSLIM. If you look at the history of the world all of the great killers or assaulter are either Jews or Christians. Who invaded BOSNIA, AFGHANISTAN, IRAQ and KASHMIR....In Kashmir, India killed over 80,000 people..but we don't wanna talk about it...Israel is an illegitimate state on the land of Palestine....But America always support it. American people can feel the pain of an injured animal but can't feel the pain of a mother whose son was brutally murdered by Israel's army in Palestine. Israel kills daily hundreds of people but no one notice it.American people always cry over 9/11 incident which was plotted by their own government for them and don't care about the same level of incident happen at every second in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kashmir...Why the hell did US attacked Iraq? I think you people know it better. We were told that Iraq has Weapon of Mass Destruction which America couldn't find any until now. What America has gotten is 100s of thousands people are killed and a lot of OIL.USA killed millions of people in Afghanistan just for the sake of ONE MAN, OSAMA which I am damn sure is also plotted by CIA because they dont wanna kill him. They grabbed SADDAM within a month but they couldn't get OSAMA after about 8 years have past !!!!...As you sow, so shall u reep.America supported them in 80s against Soviet Union..To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction...if someone kill your mother, brother, sister or father, what will be your reaction? What will you think about the killer? There are thousands of people are killed daily in Afghanistan, Iraq and Kashmir and their relatives are in full anger....Either solve the problem or face it..... There is not much time left, leave Afghanistan, Iraq and Kashmir. I am not warning or anything....but I can see the future..... Why are we people so biased?.....why are we looking at the picture from the same direction?.....

Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, Jordan
    Should i include Turkey ?
Muslims are as much a human being as other Religious Followers or Atheist are. Everybody is not Fanatic, its a shame that many clerics go on to become fanatic but then again there are Islamic Clerics subscribing to peace, forgiveness, mutual co-existence. Maybe they are not that very Vocal or possibility their voices are muffled ones which the media does not like publishing, the west does not like hearing and certain people who would even go on to say that such people do not exit. Present day IRAQ and Afghanistan are not the indigenous products of the Arab or Islamic world. History has records about how and when the west has created chaos in the lands of Muslims. Muslims did not behead millions of jews in Germany, Muslims did not promise safe havens to Jews, For wrong leadership and rampant corruption in the Arabic leadership Israel had to witness what the holy land should never ever have. Islam is not what some cleric dictates, the foundations were laid ages ago. Now people may cite that the religion started wit bloodbath, well what will a catholic do if he is constantly being tortured for spreading goodwill ? Islam is strict with regard to women - its true but never does it say that women should be tortured for no reason. Centuries ago even the church used to denounce adultery and many a times the punishment used to be death. No religion is perfect! What was taught hundreds of years ago may not always be followed hundreds of years later. We Muslims to are sad about the way our religion is being used to propagate violence and hatred but what can we do ? We already denounced violence, we just wish to lead a normal life with our families. We just wish to eat what is allowed, we just wish to pray the way we are supposed to. Are they not our basic rights? When some xyz comes in and takes them away we feel hurt but not all of us tread the path to violence. People should start recognizing the split between extremist and the non-extremist. Do not blame Islam for everything the fanatics do. You love your religion and let others adhere their religion in their own faith, measures and level.

This is a good point, "What was taught hundreds of years ago may not always be followed hundreds of years later." Unfortunately islamic law seems to be outdated, and from another time. Do you believe that statement should be applied to the laws under sharia? I could be wrong, but I do believe in all the world, the only legal system that applies stoning as a penalty would be islamic. For example, this is about sharia/islamic law in the Province of Aceh in Indonesia.

Does religon seems outdated when it says not take bribe, donot steal do not insult one another, give to the poor for the reward of the hereafter, tel me what wud compel a person to part from his wel earned income, it is the concept of heaven that motivates, so is it in inapplicable today?

Man havent changed thru times jealousy, greed, lust, enimity, hatred isnt dis still the attributes of human or have we 'advanced' and got rid of these vices? dosent these emotions stil guide people today. so is religon outdated to keep a check on these negative traits.

Islamic laws are eternal...Islamic laws are followed in Kingdom of Saudia Arabia and they have the lowest rate of crimes in the world.
May Allah lead us to the right path.

A little bit, but this is the first thread where Muslims and non Muslims are talking to each others and not at each others. at least to some degree

And I've been at this forum from the beginning.

Moral concepts, that in my mind, seem separate from religion. From personal observation, it seems the religious engage in what could be considered immoral behavior, at least as frequently as the non-religious. Further, I believe giving to the poor, as only an attempt to get a reward, is not that moral. It's simply a trade, you're doing something to get something. It's still a good act. It's just that it seems more admirable to help someone without expecting anything in return. I've seen many atheists who are extremely kind hearted, and love to help others.

Whatever law you make regarding these emotions, it's almost irrelevant. I believe those are normal emotions, people will feel these things, at least to one degree or another. It shouldn't be a crime to feel what's normal, though it can be if it results in stealing, rape, murder, and so forth. If so, then that can be dealt with under secular law.

If I lived in Saudi Arabia, I would have an extremely low quality of life, and be extremely unhappy and dissatisfied as a woman. I think all things are open to change, questioning, and evolving.

Chaos, I've seen that video. It's appalling.

Like Rebecca I think more that all things should be open to evolution than that they are - however that incapable of evolution ultimately dies out.

Although Islam is currently growing if it never evolves it too will die out.

Don't really care why actually. The actions aren't justifiable. A husband or wife who kills his/her spouse may have very good reasons, but he/she still goes to jail, regardless of his/her reasons.

Nope, but as several devout Muslims on this forum have pointed out, Muslims believe Hitler was doing Gods work.

Actually, The state of Israel has been legitimate for half a century, unlike the Palestinian territory. Most countries recognize this fact, though Muslims seem to struggle with it. By reading the remainder of your post, I see you have a hard time with facts. There is more evidence showing the prophet Mohammad was a homosexual than there is to back up any of your claims.

Is that a threat, or an acknowledgment of why the US is in Afghanistan?

Oh, a threat. Those are becoming commonplace by Muslims on this forum of recent. And you wonder why Islam has become one of the most hated religions world wide. Maybe if you spent more time speaking out against the criminals amongst you, there would be less bombs falling in Afghanistan.

    No. Turkey is Secular.
Saudi Arabia, one of the richest nations on the planet for the pure luck of having Oil, is most definitely Impoverished.

Before this forum, I used to believe the moderate Islamic clerics were the majority, with only a few radicals making up the minority. To this point, you are one of the few seemingly moderate Muslims to speak up. Most(every last one so far) Muslims on this very thread have backed up the idea that Hitler was doing God's work.

What is a good reason for torturing a woman pray tell?

Now you are talking. If you, as a Muslim, were to speak out directly against those who promote violence of any sort in the name of Islam, there would be no need for anyone else to do so. The words would carry much more weight than those of a Christian, Jew, Atheist, or Agnostic. If Muslims were to denounce loudly people like Polite Teen, and Imad, and Fazalillahi as sinners against Islam, the rest of the planet would feel the Muslim community was policing itself and peace would be achievable. I think Muslims fear to speak out against the radicals amongst them, to the point where the radicals dominate the scene. Perhaps if you speak out, it will be your house that gets bombed, or your wife that gets raped. Unfortunately for you, if you want to change the opinion of Islam in the world, it is a risk you are going to have to take. The moderate voices will have to be louder than the radicals for change to happen.

If it is the concept of heaven, why the beatings, and stonings, and lashings for what the remainder of the world does not even consider illegal (Fornication, drunkeness, adultry)?

    Amazing.
