mrfazee, I agree with you brother in most of your posts.

Regarding leaving Islam, there is a very long detail for this.

Sulh Alhudaibia, don't you remember what the prophet PBUH did in that.

Any way don't care, you did remove some misconceptions of Islam.

The matter of the jihad, which is a very sensetive and most non-muslims have used it for their claim that Islam is terrorism, has become clear for them all.

    Thank you very much,

May Allah forgive you and reward you a good reward.

At least many people admitted that Islam is a nice religion while they are non-muslim. Such are good people. May Allah guide them and open their heart to become muslims and win in the day of judgment.

And all of them say that Islam has some nice thoughts. So that is better than before.

They used to say Islam is bad, now they become some how just.

Some however will increase their opposition, so don't care or get sad for such disbelievers.

The USA in particular has Age Discrimination, Sexual Discrimation etc to protect women, homosexuals etc, those that not from the main stream again prejudice. As LogicFlux put it perfectly, the hate criminals are charged and convicted, the crimes are not in any way initiated by the state. In fact the state itself tried in its various ways to protect the minority. The current Presidential Election is one good example, we see a woman VP to be as well as a Black President to be.

No society is perfect, hate crimes does exist everywhere and in most cases cause outrage among the main stream and also condemnation for such criminals. As I see in say USA or Australia, there are definitely hate crimes but outsiders migrating there are finding it far easier to be accepted than in Muslim countries. I remembered reading posts of a sheikh in Australia living happily and condemning Australia etc but refused to go home. This is a perfect example. Tolerant society versus repressive ones.

So you believe killing 'homo's or non believers is just and right?

I do not actually understand how "safety and freedom" for homosexuals is a threat to the Islamic population. The way you explain here implies that if we allow homo's to live, they will start gunning down Muslims or suicide bomb the mosques or Muslim populated areas. Weird? its not like the homosexual people are kept under lock and key and if we let them loose, they will pounce on the Muslims and start killing them, just like we sometimes see in Zombie movies, where Zombies start attacking people for no reason whatsoever.

Or is it what you guys think (homo's will attack you like Zombies). Please explain, the followers of the "religion of peace"? (note the quotes, hehe)

That is not my point. Of course, everyone can talk out and condemn, talk is cheap....The whole point is, these guys are using the name of Islam and Allah to kill innocent people...innocent people who do not have any say whatsoever in the political situation of the world. I ask, isn't it a sin in Islam to negatively use the name of your "God" and religion to commit sins, terrorism and anarchy? If yes, then why hasn't any actions been taken by Islamic countries in hunting down and killing these so called sinners. Your leaders don't hesitate on opportunists to issue fatwa (or a call to kill) against people who only express their own opinion on your religion or exercise their freedom of speech to bring out negativity of Islam. However, when people use the name of your religion as a reason to commit terrorism, the best you can do is sit on your a** and talk about it? Where is your duty as Muslims to protect the credibility of your religion? And if you support these people who are doing these crimes, then of course, your religion is not peaceful....

FYI, America or Israel is not killing innocent Muslims at will. They target out terrorists and if the public comes in the way, its not America's fault. Just ask yourself, why so many civilian causalities arise from the bombing? I tell you... Because these civilians actually give shelter and harbor these criminals within their houses and villages.

Let me give you an example, a person who gives shelter to a rapists, or a murder, is also considered a criminal in Islam and any other society. So harboring terrorists automatically qualifies these civilians as terrorists too. Simple...

So when the soldiers target out these terrorists, the civilians who harbor them get in the way and are killed too. Again, this is logical. If you harbor terrorists, you are a terrorist too. If you don't condone these terrorists, you will either chase them far away from your villages, or hand them over to the law authorities....

To whoever started this thread, you actually did more harm to the image of your religion than good. I, before reading this thread, thought that killing of homosexuals and deserters was actually a mis-quote of the Koran and deduced that no religion could be so pathetic, uncivilized and filled with violence, to actually order the killing of innocent people just because they are "different" or choose to live their life as they wish. But, after reading this thread, I can conclude that Islam perfectly fulfills the above criteria. You just further tarnished the image of "the religion of peace" (note the emphasis, hehe)...

I just don't get this. People usually commit serious crimes in all cultures but never they use the name of their religion or God to justify the crime. A Christan who steals never says that he he did it in the name of Jesus. A Hindu who commits adultery never says he did it in the name of Vishnu and so on. But when it comes to Islam, why do the terrorists use the name of Allah to justify their crimes. Well, something as to be out of place surely  All Islamic extremists use the name of Islam to carry out suicide bombings, killings and other terrorists attacks. This just shows that Islam is clearly not a religion of peace, but one of Violence. Simple and Logical...

I think these two posts clearly explain things to everyone. How can someone even think of supporting a religion which openly calls for the execution of people who try to leave it? And I'm really sad to see that even educated followers of this religion tend to believe in these things and follow these things. God save this world.

I consider myself pretty tolerant of Islam. I have met many muslims I liked and respected. But I am definitely going to hell according to Islam. I would rather die than convert for starters. I have heard the message of Islam here and other places and it is patriarchal, brainwashing, populace control to me and I have no room for that in my life. I abhor the notion that we are to be slaves to any God even the most supreme and high of Gods, that we must observe man made taboos and customs or be considered impure infidels is alien to my philosophy, religious beliefs, and personal interests. I do not have to pray 5 times a day to be a good person and I do not have to have the whole world buy into my religion to believe the world is a good place full of good people. I do not need the world to conform to my views and I do not need them to accept my views. I do not think spreading religion is necessary or even good. Religion should be a personal choice and it should fit the person and any true religion of peace should accept this and not promote itself as the one and only true religion.

Here is the answer to all of your claims, i have my concepts clear:

    Praise be to Allaah.

The punishment for apostasy from the religion of Islam is execution. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):

“And whosoever of you turns back from his religion and dies as a disbeliever, then his deeds will be lost in this life and in the Hereafter, and they will be the dwellers of the Fire. They will abide therein forever”

    [al-Baqarah 2:217]

And it was proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Whoever changes his religion, execute him.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari in his Saheeh. What this hadeeth means is that whoever leaves Islam and changes to another religion and persists in that and does not repent, is to be executed. It was also proven that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “It is not permissible to shed the blood of a person who bears witness that there is no god but Allaah and that I am the Messenger of Allaah except in three cases: a life for a life, a previously-married person who commits adultery, and one who leaves Islam and forsakes the jamaa’ah.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari and Muslim.

This harsh punishment is for a number of reasons:

1 – This punishment is a deterrent to anyone who wants to enter Islam just to follow the crowd or for hypocritical purposes. This will motivate him to examine the matter thoroughly and not to proceed unless he understands the consequences of that in this world and in the Hereafter. The one who announces his Islam has agreed to adhere to all the rulings of Islam of his own free will and consent, one of which rulings is that he is to be executed if he apostatizes from the faith.

2 – The one who announces his Islam has joined the jamaa’ah (main body) of the Muslims, and whoever joins the main body of the Muslims is required to be completely loyal and to support it and protect it against anything that may lead to fitnah or destroy it or cause division. Apostasy from Islam means forsaking the jamaa’ah and its divine order, and has a harmful effect on it. Execution is the greatest deterrent that will prevent people from committing such a crime.

3 – Those Muslims who are weak in faith and others who are against Islam may think that the apostate has only left Islam because of what he has found out about its real nature, because if it were the truth then he would never have turned away from it. So they learn from him all the doubts, lies and fabrications which are aimed at extinguishing the light of Islam and putting people off from it. In this case executing the apostate is obligatory, in order to protect the true religion from the defamation of the liars and to protect the faith of its adherents and remove obstacles from the path of those who are entering the faith.

4 – We also say that the death penalty exists in the modern laws of man to protect the system from disorder in some situation and to protect society against certain crimes which may cause its disintegration, such as drugs etc. If execution can serve as a deterrent to protect man-made systems, then it is more appropriate that the true religion of Allaah, which Falsehood cannot come to it from before it or behind it [cf. Fussilat 41:42], and which is all goodness, happiness and tranquility in this world and in the Hereafter should punish those who commit acts of aggression against it and seek to extinguish its light and defame its image, and who fabricate lies against it to justify their apostasy and deviation.

If your religion is so fragile that the death penalty is necessary to enforce its practice and assure its integrity then I think maybe it needs to be rethought. I also think you need to break open a dictionary and look up goodness, happiness and tranquility and see if murdering people is anywhere near the meanings of those words.

mrfazee, you are fighting a lost cause. Thanks for avoiding my questions in this thread, it indicates that you are just changing the issue by quoting irrelevant verses from the koran. And yeh, just for your info, you should realize that koran is just a offshoot of the bible. Ask any historians, they have proofs of the bible being copied to make up your koran. So stop quoting from a plagiarized source and give logical and realistic answers.

Tell me, how can a religion be considered peaceful when it calls for killing of certain groups of people. Please answer without quoting from your koran as it is just a book, nothing more...And if possible, go back, read my posts and answer my arguments (I said if possible :D)

This thread is so failing to meet its stated goal that it is starting to look like a setup... like if Barack Obama opened a thread to tout the virtues of voting McCain.
So which one of your is actually a rabbi in disguise? Fazee?

I agree :p I think its someone disguising himself as a Muslim deliberately starting this thread to expose the faults and pathetic nature of this religion. Please don't do this, my plea to the Original poster. Your deliberate act just makes more and more people hate this "religion of peace". lol, religion of peace, one can only laugh at this paradox :D

I would assume all the muslims I have known and liked would be considered by the few here to be "bad" muslims for not telling me how evil I must be for not adopting their religion.

Firstly i am not avoiding any ones questions, put your questions forward in one post and i will answer them!

The people on this thread are only talking about one thing PUNISHMENTS, ASK ME ABOUT SOMTHING ELSE AND I WILL ANSWER!!!!!!!! IF I ASK YOU ABOUT THE PUNISHMENTS MENTIONED IN THE BIBLE MOST OF YOU WONT KNOW WHAT THEY ARE AND I TELL YOU WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS TO EXECUTE HOMOSEXUALS.

If you all think i failed, prove it! Ask me that how Islam encourages peace, and is agianst violence! Islam punishes for the correct reasons and the stats prove that! I know that many of you will never agree but the stats clearly prove that Islam's laws are effective!

Lets see how many of you can put forward a decent arguement when the holy books of almost all religions enforce simmilar laws to the ones in the Quran. Yes there is a difference when it comes to people, in certain religions almost all of its believers dont follow its teachings, in Islam Governments do and yes a certain group of people dont, those who take law into there own hands are disobeying the teachings of Islam. If you all want to say that islam is not the correct religion then prove it with a fair debate! We talk about everything, Punishments is just a small part of what Islam teaches. Just because some of you want to protray islam in a way that it is not a religion of peace the only thing you will concentrate on is where it is strict!

Strict? Not a problem for me. Murderous? Yeah that kind of gets me riled up. Btw I don't agree with killing homosexuals when the King James Version says it either. If the stats said cutting the balls off of every male would decrease crime would you support that too? Statistics are BS anyway, they are less reliable than the statistician who takes them and when that statistician is paid by the State... yeah. You also seem to be under the mistaken impression that all things professed in Islam are somehow owned by Islam. I would argue that besides a few name changes there is nothing original in Islam. Prophets, rules, supression of sexuality, same old hat different feather.

Too often we inadvertently focus on the bad and miss the good. For example, I understand Charles Manson has a fine baritone singing voice.
