Thank you for doing my homework! Your stats are perfectly accurate and they once again affirm the greatness of Islam, and these statististics should serve as an example for all those who criticize islamic law.

Firstly the word you used above "dragged" shows what your intention is, you are exaggerating the death penalty. The fact is that our laws are strict and yes we do hang more people than you infact that figure is double, (120 people per year) which is less than China, North Korea, and Japan. But the number of deaths that occur as a result of crime in America is 10 times more than that of Saudi Arabia. Drinking to death, in Islam if you drink alchohol in public you are subject to 60 Lashes. Which is why you dont even hear of a single death by excessive drinking in Saudi Arabia, which proves that a religion in which laws were set more than 1400 years ago are effective to date.

ALL ARE CREATED EQUAL, we all have eyes to see, ears to listen, a nose to smell, and a mouth to speak. I can say that person has eyes to see or he has ears to listen, and Islam is not just a religion infact it is a way of life, and if you live that way you will be rewarded with paradise.

It is true that they are different but then according to your criteria everyone weather he/she be a criminal, rapist, or murderer should have a place in society cos the fact is they are just different.

Subhanallah, this once again proves the Strength and ability of Islam, this is something i was aiming to achieve when i started this thread, it is great to see that (Ianmonkey) had the humility and courage to come forward with what he/she thought of this great religion, i respect that and everyone else should to.

    Thank you

you have to understand what its like living as a 3rd world person...

the "chain" i talked about is very very important...

its not about women wearing burkas, its not about alocohol or persecuting the gay population as much as it is about survival of the family and its values plain and simple...

religious islamic men do not go spending their time getting drunk in stip bars, they do not tattoo their bodys and shave their heads and wear "goatees" and a huge percentage of them does not indulge in any "decadent" activities...they are modest and uniform and money is spent on family

religious islamic women do not wear mini skirts and do not use their body to "bait" men, they do not spend money on designer clothes "competing" with the other girls who is dressed more "provocatively" and they do not get drunk or drugged and display any "decadence" and money is spent on family

here we come to the problem at hand...if the majority of the population takes their religion very seriously and makes,in a way, "sacrifices" or "concessions" then it is not asking too much for the homosexuals to do the same...

    men gave up alcohol/drugs/decadence
    women gave up clothing/hairstyles/alcohol/drugs/decadence

so gays are expected to keep it private and in 2-3 muslim countries (that dont even hold 5% of total islam) gay people are killed over something muslims consider "death to their society" and in a way i agree (but not with killing people)...muslims are very very serious about their religion and about norms of acceptable conduct...

to fully understand try putting yourself in the average muslims family scenario= little money/much sand/no wellfare...you work or you die (hugely important point)...stuff like alcohol/drugs/designer clothes/strip bars/gay bars/gangs/profanity ect ect are things that steer money away from family and moral values something that can not be separated from islam its a fundamental stone for all muslims...

to them its simple math 140.000 decadent deaths/year in the USA + all the ruined families/lives from this + the crime this brings + the gangs this funds + the decadence this promotes on one side and on the other side you have 50-150 executions/year in saudi arabia and i dont now how many in iran but no alcohol no drugs no drunk drivers no marylin manson no paris hilton and no drugged up hollywood idols (not going anti US rant here) to steer people away from islamic teachings and culture...

homosexuals dont "harm" anybody directly just like the mini skirt does not gouge anybodys eyes out just like a joint wont kill you...islam drew the line at a different place from western society...this does not make them backward or evil...it is not for the west to approve or disapprove...innocent people do get targeted sometimes just like your 140.000 decadent deaths/year target innocent...

im not saying muslim society is perfect everybody has their problems...im just saying things are not as they seem and its easy to paint somebody as evil just because he is different...

I beg to differ on your interpretation of my post. Homosexuals are not different from you or me. If you are interpreting my post in this way, I would suggest you say all of us straight or gay are not different from criminal, rapist, or murderer.

I judge a country not on how subservient the minority are but how tolerant are the majority towards the minority.

I personally do not agree on homosexuality but I feel that they as well as everyone of us have the right to our own sexual preferences. I do not see how and what you said reinforce the greatness of Islam. In fact it just degrades Islam in the eyes of others reinforcing critics on the intolerance of these regimes.

I'd rather live free with a chance of danger, than live under fear of my own government.

What stats did you not include? How about those stoned to death? How about changing it to reflect the amount of population differences, how about equating for the difference in how many drive cars in the US compared to Saudi Arabia?

No we wouldn't want to do that as those 'stats' would hurt your agenda. How about the bombings being taken place in the Islam word?

Freedom does not equate to perfect safety, I will still take freedom over 'safety' any day of the week.

ROFL. I'm sorry... I sure wouldnt want to exaggerate the death penalty.

Honestly, if your calm defense of something as heinous as hanging homosexuals is an example of how peaceful this religion is, then this thread has had an effect... just not the one you hoped for.

You prefer freedom over safety, why dont you go to Iraq or Afghanistan, where currently there is no law, so you are free to do what you like, break any law kill who you like rob banks there is freedom but no safety you could get killed any time!

The stats mentioned for executions include any case of stoning to death, the stats include any person put to death by the government of Saudi Arabia. Which is 125! That has bring the crime rate in Saudi Arabia down to the lowest in the world.

Islam does not authorize any body to take the law in his/her own hands and kill people, ONLY the government has the right to. Islamic law is strict to the wrong doers so the world is a free place.

Since when do you not need laws in order to have freedom? Basic laws of course are required. Laws against murder and theft do not go against personal freedom.

Iraq and Afghanistan both have laws, both are war zones, horrible example on your part.

Yeah I'm sure it is all stoning s and honor killings, sure it is.

In this case, maybe you can enlighten us on Ayatollah Khomeini fatwa on Rushdie? Since only the government has the right to law, then what about his fatwa on Rushdie's head?

Your quotation I am referring to

I have no problem with Islamic governments punishing wrongdoers. All I'm telling you is, don't add homosexuals in the category of wrongdoers who should be punished severely. A wrongdoer, by definition, does something which disturbs the people around him. A homosexual, on the other hand, does something which is pleasurable to him and his partner inside his bedroom. So, I don't think how a homo could be considered a criminal.

Moreover, your argument that homosexuality is a threat to human existence does not hold. The number of homosexuals was, is, and always will be minuscule when compared to normal human beings who tend to procreate. So, it does not pose a threat to humanity.

There has been a large influx of these kind of threads lately and it's getting quite old.....

If you have to run around and exert so much effort into convincing people of the "strengeth of Islam" and why it's such a great religion, chances are it's not. All of these threads talking about how great and wonderful Islam is reminds me of the infomercials I see on TV late at night. These animated hosts try so damn hard to convince you that you can't live without their product, it's the best around, and you can throw away all of your other appliances because their product is just that great! You are all hyped and can't wait to get it, and when you do, you learn you have been duped into buying a cheap piece of s*it.....

Ruling people by threats of death, violence, or status is disgusting. No matter how you try to wrap it up and make it look pretty, it's still disgusting. I'm sure there are good messages to be found somewhere in your religion, but killing people for being raped, cheating, or just expressing who they truly are is disgusting.

It's been in the news a lot lately, but it's fits perfectly here.....You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still just a pig....

Which means, mrfazee and perhaps hundreds of millions of other people want to see homosexuals dead only because Mohammed was a homophobic.

Why is it that threads like this which are intended to make people respect Islam do the exact opposite and make me realize that even so called "moderates" are hell bent to telling others how to live and would justify killing them for not following Islam.

If you want to be a slave to your religious rules - go for it. What I will not tolerate is the notion that Muslims want us all to be enslaved by Islam's religious rules.

As for Islam being a religion of peace its own supporters on this thread and elsewhere debunk that notion rather clearly.

Ayatollah Khomeini is a scholar of the Shia's, what he says matters to the shia, and if his views contradict the rules set by Allah and the prophet (pbuh) then no body should follow them. The prophet prohibit the general public from taking the law into their own hands.

Firstly let me get somthing clear, Islam prohibits homosexuality (like most religions do including christanity) and therefore in islamic law there is a law that prohibits homosexuality since the threat it poses to humanity, so if you break any law you should be punished and since we consider this a very important law the punishment is severe. Anybody who breaks any law can be considered a criminal. My arguement that homosexuality is a threat to humanity can not be proven wrong, and the reason why the number of homos have remained small is simply because of laws like these and simmilar laws have made sure that it does not spread too much. In the US tell me how many states Gay marriage is legal? As the number rises so will the number of Homos. There is a simmilar case around the world.

Look when you say why do you have to make threads to tell people how great of a religion it is, firstly the number of followers of islam (muslims) is more than the followers of any religion, Islam is the most followed religion in the world! But on this forum after i read the posts made on different threads i felt it was necessary to make such a thread. Islam does not order the killing of people who are raped but it does order that of those who rape , rapists and also when it comes to cheating again no death penalty to cheaters. If you say the death penalty should not exist than the same implies for your contries.

Ha, Ha, you think you are funny, i tell what you aint, cant put forward a decent arguement then keep your posts to your self.

    The Prophet (pbuh) said:

    Speak Good or Remain silent!

I think most the people on this thread would agreee

Do not post things like this on this thread!

How is it a threat to 'humanity'

IMHO nobody should be FORCED to live under the 'laws' of a religion.

I live in the US, so I will admit other countries should be free to govern the way they wish. Even with that I myself am against religion, which is a primary cause of some of the worst violence in the history of man kind, should be the basis for the legal system of a country.

Am I think only one who finds this a wee bit hypocritical.

So you can speak ill of homosexuals including advocating for their murder. But want to complain when someone merely says something dumb? You are the one openly advocating for murder of people who's only crime is being homosexual. Your hypocritical intolerance is appalling.
