Hehe, yah man, Islam is the most peaceful religion in the world. I didn't know that killing leads to peace. All my moral teachings were wrong *stupid moral teachings* Let us all start killing and beheading people because it will lead to peace. *looks for hatchet*.

But one thing I cannot understand....

A guy writes his own opinion on Islam.... There are street demonstration, issuing of fatwa, and call for the person's death (and of course burning of the American and Israeli flag )

One guy draws up some cartoons about Mohammad, nothing offensive. There are street demonstration, issuing of fatwa, and call for the person's death (and again burning of the American and Israeli flag )

One lady names her teddy bear Mohammad. Again street demonstrations, issuing of fatwa, and call for the person's death (and not forgetting... burning of the American and Israeli flag)

Now, a group of people who openly claim they are Muslims and followers of Allah, kill scores of innocent people around the world in the name of Allah, associate themselves to Islam, commit terrorism in the name of Allah, etc... and they are free to continue degrading the name of God and religion. Nothing happens to them. In fact, people who call themselves Muslims harbor these terrorists who degrade the name of Islam. Degrading the name of Islam is not considered a crime:rolleyes:....But being a homosexual is a crime? Very weird indeed

English muffins are good. I'm wondering while we are on the subject if bagels are permitted in muslim countries or is there a fatwa against them?

Don't you know mate, there is a fatwa. Ask Why?

Coz it is different and has a hole in the middle. Unless we get rid of all bagels, there won't be peace on earth. And eating lots of bagels will give you stomach problems and maybe disease in the long run.

Reminder... anything causing disease is considered offensive to the "religion of peace", so lets start beheading those bagels until the last of them are finished....

On the same note, bacteria also spread infections and diseases. We need to behead them too...:D

EDIT: my religion, Jeebuism is asking me to go to bed now, because tomorrow I have to go back to work :(

I don't particularly like homosexuals. But i wouldn't advocate or support harming them in any way just on basis of their sexual preferences.

I dislike the implications of your last sentence that sheep and goats and wild boar can be hunted for fun. If everybody started hunting them for fun, they'd become extinct. ;)

Apologies on that, just as an illustration, I do not advocate hunting, be they sheep, goats wild boars or moose.

LOL. Hey, in some parts of the country hunting is a religion too. Y'all be careful about attacking a religion there.
    ====
Actually I don't hunt these days either... but talking about anything aside from how appropriate it is to kill gays and such is a nice break.

PUTTING A FACE ON "HONOR KILLINGS"
We had an "honor killing" of two bright young girls in a nearby town not long ago... the dad was a nifty hardline Muslim that didnt approve of his daughters dating non-Muslims. He ended the practice with a 9mm pistol, and the state of Texas will give him a chance to discuss it face to face with his god when the justice system catches him.

Incidentally the dad spent time with the Wadih El Hage crew over in a mosque in Arlington Tx... the same guy that was involved in the '93 WTC bombing. Its hard to discuss hardline adherents of that religion without finding yourself a degree or two away from a terrorist attack. That kinda belies the point of this thread I suspect.

Photo: Sara and Amina Said - Slain for the Glory of Allah
One of the girls managed to call 911 after being shot 9 times with a 9mm pistol. This is an "Honor" killing? Try "dis-honorable". It isnt just religious theory when lives get snuffed due to adherence to a barbaric and backward belief that dating a member of another faith is punishable by death. It is inhumane and vicious, not "honorable".

Being willing to kill homosexuals, who do not break the law of the land here, or one's own daughters for simply dating a non-believer... certainly a sample of enforcing ancient law while breaking a stack of local ones... kinda tells me the folks that take the tenets of that faith seriously can be a serious security problem.

That's a sad story Rob. Fanatical and mindless adherence to religion [Pretty much everything really] leads to these kinds of horrible things.

I am not opposed to limited and regulated hunting. It is even unpreventable ;). Poaching and reckless hunting is bad.

Various wildlife parks allow people to hunt game animals if they donate to the park for the purpose of wildlife conservation and park expenses. Letting a few die for the sake of the many.

just like some parents in the USA who refuse medical aid to their children, out of religious reasons, and they die...theres extreme examples on both sides...fanatical and mindless adherence to religion is present in the USA too...that guy shooting his daughters because they dated non muslims is just an isolated BS example its not like this in many many many muslism countries...

I'm sure the fact that the murder of these innocent girls is an isolated example of a practice the OP has defended as appropriate and holy per the muslim creed makes the girls much less dead.

Atv- In another thread you worry that we dont weep for the death of innocent children that were not intentionally targeted... but apparently you only weep when it suits your anti-US agenda. When it doesnt, even the intentional murder of innocents by their own father in concordance with the tenets of Islam is "an isolated example".

(aaaaand back on ignore you go)

So called honor killings should not be associated with Islam, they may be practiced by some Muslims but Islam only gives permission to a government which completes its duties to punish anybody for breaking a law.

You all have a problem with Islam saying to execute homos, well firstly i gave you all what i have, they are a threat to humanity, and do pose a health risk but yes i do agree it may not be enough to prove that they should be killed. At the same time i will not comprise my beliefs and the rules Islam sets i will always follow, cos what ever Islam teaches at times may seem wrong but as time goes by it is always proven correct, to conclude i will say more research needs to be done into the harms of homosexuality, and science has not done enough research into this matter! I believe and will always believe the scientific facts in the quran cannot be proven wrong, Infact i challenge any one to do so.

    Thank you

Unwillingness to compromise on anything and expecting others to do otherwise is an admirable trait. :D

in my opinion the OP does not speak/think negatively about his religion out of faith...i do not agree with the execution part of islam but im not religious and its easy for me...

you mean my anti war anti US "army"/government agenda?...i have nothing against americans this is just your assumption...only a fool would hold citizens responsible for their corrupt/blundering government...if i call the common american apathic and arrogant to the destruction your politics cause this does not make me an "enemy"...

this is more of a case of you trying to sell the act of some crazy mother F-er as some type of "norm" or common event in islam whilst conveniently ignoring the religious nutjobs in the USA who refuse medical aid to their own children or starve their children to death because they spent the $ on crack...murder by gun or murder by refusing medical aid a crazy whack job does not a nation/religion paint...

    aaaaand on idontgiveashit you stay...

Look i can compromise on something personal, like i did by saying the current proofs are not sufficient, but when it comes to religion i will not say it is wrong.

    Thank you

Sacred cows. Religion, country and so on.

Constructive criticism and open minded evaluation can only make a religion stronger. Nothing is set in stone. Religions should change outdated and impractical rules and evolve to suit the people and the world.

Bacteria also poses health risks. I don't see any Muslims issuing a fatwa for their beheading? :D

It is seen/made off as a way to protect women from unwanted attention from strangers and protect them from crimes such as rape. It's ok for a woman to wear them if she feels insecure or the need to be protected, but should never be mandatorily enforced upon everyone.

I dislike Burka's, especially when they cover the whole face like the Chadri. Covering a person's face is like smothering his identity. Kind of like a mask. Why would decent women be made to wear masks in public, especially if they don't want to?

If women like or choose to wear them without any compulsion, so be it. But enforcing the rule and threatening those who don't comply isn't right. But some hardline groups often do so, accompanied by threats of throwing acid on the face.
