Actually I dont think they were all bad people. Thier cause was bad yes, but I'm sure many were just following order's fighting a stupid war for your country. Many in America would probably do the same thing if they were ordered to do so.

So, "if they were ordered to", are they still responsible for their actions?

In fact, if you stop, think and talk to them, I am sure you will find common grounds between yourself and Nazi's and before long they will be your best friends. ;)

I don't know about that. I keep talking to you, and you're still not my best friend.

Nope I never said that they arent responsible. Indeed they are. But in the same respect its the winner's of the war that determine this.

Let's say hypothetically the US went to war and invaded a country much in the Iraq style. Let's say its Iran, if in turn let's say russia and china were to retaliate and successfully defeate the US (not saying they would) dont you think many americans and the leaders be tried for warcrimes? I am not condoning what the nazi's did, but justice is always determined by the winner.

Democracy is also bound and decisions have to be made within a legal framework.

In 2000, Saddam Hussein stated to the world, Iraq was a model of democracy, his position was always up for democratic re-election, without the interference of court judges (ie America's 2000 election).

He's right, he did get the majority of votes under his legal framework.

Yeah, I've asked the same, but I got two serious replies from various people:

    1. He was 'drafted' in his youth, and when he became of age, he ran away from the party/army. So he shown he's shown by his actions, he wasn't a supporter of the ideology.

    2. Don't we have a Senator who was(or is) a member of the KKK, and never apologized for supporting their work?

    Do the math.

My iraqi friend who worked in the palace said that hussein was OK first, even a great leader, but the situation changed rapidly within iraq with no influence from outside.

Being elected within a legal framework doesn't exclude responsibilities for the slaughters of thousands of innocent lives, or am I wrong? - and who should have carried out justice, when the regime was kept alive only through brutal dictatorship?

Now that I understand, your personality is the result of your many years of encounters with pedophile priests and suppressing those memories, I have found a new sense of understanding for you and just forgive you for all your stupid comments such as above. :D
