Quran says: "when the sacred months have passed, then kill the polytheists wherever you find them and capture them and besiege them and sit in wait for them at every place of ambush" - At Taubah 9:5 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWocyy6wsbU But what is the real meaning of it?
am not surprised that at some point in the koran it refers to killing polytheists - worshippers of many gods - or that it refers to killing infidels. in the time it was written there were many bloody battles between mohammed and his supporters and other tribes, with even female members of mohammed's family, namely 'aisha', taking part. also the bible and torah refer to killing gentiles in much the same way, and as i remember there was not much mercy meted out to those citizens of babylon or sodom and gomorah in the old testament. no organised religion is against blood-letting, as one can see with a quick look back in history at the crusades, the catholic inquisition, etc. another good reason not to base your life on any of the three main holy texts.
Ahem. Correction: Sodom and Gomorah were destroyed by whom again? Take Hiroshima as an example: you kill some and you save the lives of so many. That is what put an end to the WW2. Sometimes you got to make tough decisions. There were reasons why certain wicked groups were to be destroyed according to the Bible. And yet this was very, very specific. It was not non-discriminatory like it is in the Quran. judetheobscure: a closer look at communism. An atheistic way of governance. It killed more people than all the religions combined together. It makes the muslims jealous. Communism killed more infidels than the islamists. So we have to see which texts/creeds we follow.
He says it is in reference to war. But, not all kaffars blinded by the fact that there is always a war of islam against all others. SO, it is a time of war and so you are commanded by mohamud to kill all kafirs where you find them.
I follow the Bible and there isn't one place that commands me to kill anyone is there? (Just to help you, don't bother taking a verse that clearly commands a certain people of a certain time to kill a certain group. I don't fit any of that for obvious reasons, I am not either of those people or time.)
Does the koran teach to kill, tax or convert infidels as a general principle? Also does the Koran teach that in the last day trees will cry out there is a Jew behind me come and kill him?
