Since I have a feeling that this thread has a potential to create lots of confusions, I would like to make clear on something. I did not create this thread to do anything illegal. I create this thread because I am genuinely curious about something. So please, do not try to entice me or any other readers to do illegal things.

Now here's the question: is it safe to say that the existence of a SUCCESSFUL Grade Changing Hacker is a myth as of the present?
Here's the reason why I think this is so:
    1. Changing grades, illegally or legally, will set off multiple triggers. You may get passed the security, but the triggers are still there. One of these triggers are things like the date log. An adminstrator would remember that she had not done anything that has to do with grades at a certain date. If the computer says otherwise, then she can raised the alarm. You might say that she might not remember such a specific detail. However, if you think carefully, then you can see how remembering things like this is not hard at all.
    2. The other trigger would be the notifications sent to your teachers that one of their student's grades have been changed.
    3. The final trigger would be the notifications sent to the dean. Changing grades require the approval of the dean, thus the existence of the notification. No matter how authentic you try to make your changing of grades look, I'm pretty sure that you cannot not escape the careful scrutinizing eyes of the dean,
    4. Assuming that you somehow stop the trigger mechanisms, then keep in mind that there are electronic records that are disconnected from other machines. Occasionally, the school would cross check the electronic grades with the grades in the disconnected computer to see if anything has been changed. The hacker thus have no choice but to go to that location and cannot just hack from anywhere else in the world. This increases the chance of the hacker being caught.
    5. Finally, there are those good o'l hard copies of your grades hidden in some center somewhere. Hackers might be able to change electronic records without being detected, but they cannot change physical records. The electronic records and the physical records were also occasionally cross checked with each other.

With all of these reasoning, I think it is safe to make a blanket statement: no hackers in the world has enough talent to SUCCESSFULLY change grades illegally. I could be wrong, but I just can't imagine any hackers passing through all of these obstacles.
