I'm curious to know how this latest update has affected rankings of websites that are listed in the Google directory. My website (http://www.hustlerpanties.com) that is listed in the Google directory tanked and now Google is ranking my listing in their directory over my actual website. My website (http://www.viciousstyle.com) that is not listed in the Google directory shot to #1 for a KW I was targeting. My websites are all optimized the same and it seems that the only difference is that one is in the directory and one is not. So, I'm wondering if being listed in the directory has adversly effected my rankings...
Google directory is the same as the DMOZ, is it not VS? Plus who uses any directories to find anything anyway?
My Arizona Real Estate site is in Google's Directory. The latest update was very nice to me. I came out of the sanbox and landed on the first page of the SERPS.
I have a new listing in dmoz this month, but google hasn’t incorporated it into there onsite listings yet. It doesn’t show up as a backlink either. I'm new to these listings, how long before google dmoz merge purge the directories? And with all there technology why isn’t it instantaneous. Doesn’t google trust human edited listing.
Not in the directory and have a top 5 in G for our primary search phrase. I think that the directory holds some weight but not a lot.
My coaching site isn't in the directory and did really well out of this update. My homeless site has several listings in the directory and did really well this update also. My schoolies site is not in the directory and remained at number 1,2,5 & 8.
I've never had any luck getting a site in dmoz. Have plenty of non-affiliate sites and clients I've submitted. Either I don't know the right people, or I'm short on the universal lubricant.
