Google is coming up with Semantic web. Search Engines like Google (who are pallbearers for technology) are already reaching out for it by adopting LSI in their ranking algorithms. You can know more about Latent Semantic Indexing(LSI), http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latent_semantic_indexing here. We will perform a free LSI Readiness Report for your website and will let you know where your website is lacking behind. Contact us with your site URL and email address and I will send you the Report. We are also offering our LSI Based SEO Services to SEO Companies for their clients. To know the details of our activities, please contact us.
Your wiki link didn't work but I would be interested in getting your free report for my site www.african-antiques.com to see what it is all about. The right link is (copy and paste in the URL of your browser): en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latent_semantic_analysis I found also a good text explaining what to do with this LSI at : www.seobook.com/archives/000657.shtml

This assertion is debateable and one that I believe is false. Search engines have other ways than LSI/LSA to make connections between words and meanings, all of which are more computationally efficient. (For example Yahoo's concept server). If Google had implemented LSI then it would be possible to find pages in the SERPs for two semantically related words where the two words do not appear on the same page or inbound anchors. I have yet to see an example of this. - Michael
I realize this is a service sales thread and I would like an analysis done for www.garden-helper.com as well as www.kitchenmatters.com, but I also want to briefly mention that I tend to agree with Michael on this. Although TrustRank may exist I think it probably acts as another component of PageRank rather than a straight filter on SERPS. Regardless I commend your effort to make a go of it with this difficult concept and I wish you the best of luck. I will be looking forward greatly to the reports. Please mail then to admin[at]garden-helper[dot]com
Michael, We believe that we have conclusive evidence that google is in know of LSI technology. We know that they have been using it in specialized searches. In fact they have always been doing theme based indexing and rankings so LSI just formalizes and logicaly extends that. In fact our current research is focussed on analyzing the extend of LSI usage on various search terms. We have written an ebook on the same. If you want I can send you a copy of that for your refrence. Sarika
I would like to see the conclusive evidence and look forward to reading the e-book. When I have read it perhaps we can debate it in a new thread? - Michael
All pms replied. I would appreciate if you all share your thoughts with me on the report. We can offer you LSI based SEO Services in order to rank organically high with the Search Engines. Also pm me for a free LSI Ebook along with your email id. Thanks Sarika
LSI is no more important and no one cares of it. SO get yourself updated as u are talking of 2005 and we are in 2006.
