Thank you for confiming my thoughts about this form of 'traffic' jl. Pop ups / unders are not targetted traffic they are unwanted advertising that todays web savy user does not want. Back in the 90's you could make something out of them, but their time has passed. The only people who make good money out of them now are those that sell them.

I never buy pop-ups at all. Whether they are in front or back, they are annoying. If a company advertises that way I refuse to buy from them. I did find one good source of traffic today. I signed up at isedn.org, it gives you exposure over 225 search engines in 6 hours. You are listed as a sponsored listing similar to google. It only cost $12 for 3 months (regardless of how many clicks you get). I think that is the best traffic investment I have made lately. I was very impressed. Am I the only one on this forum that has never heard of them?:)

What I was seeing was pop-overs, where the site was shown in an iframe on the actual page (it didn't "pop-up", I suppose because browsers block those by default now). It was just as annoying as a pop-up, though, so I just don't see how anyone can get much in the way of conversions from it.

    And you're welcome everybody. :)

great thing you got here - I think it is because everyone is part of maybe a traffic exchnage? not sure - but this is what i am thinking when purchasing traffic from forums - they are simply just hits and not targeted traffic

most are probably from traffic exchanges or traffic sharing users

    great job here jon

No, they're not traffic exchanges. It's just that the sites use pop-overs (mostly) that are quickly closed by the visitors, so a large portion never even really see your site at all.

    Hey guys,

I was one of the traffic suppliers with conversions. This was a great experiment.

However, it's important to note that looking at some of the real traffic suppliers stats, many people spent sometime on Jon's website. I myself, just decided to take a look. It's a long process that involves filling out personal information. It's very possibly people feel discouraged when asked to fill out such long questionnaires and just close the site before finishing it.

Yes, Jon's Youtube traffic converts and it can be considered the same, if not lesser quality. However, it's important to note, people are more enticed to do something when they choose to do it (they're the ones who clicked the link from Youtube to go to Jon's site). Unless you catch their attention with a great site or great ad, they're probably feel discouraged from completing something they didn't choose to go to (pop-up site, redirected domain, network advertisements, etc.).

Here's the thing though BinderGang: almost nobody even clicked through the to the site where they fill out the form. They "saw" the landing page (if they didn't stop it from loading before it was even finished) and then took off.

The stats page you see shows that a lot of people "saw" the page, but the stats you don't see, the one from the vendor's site that tracks the click-throughs, shows that almost nobody clicked through. Even with YouTube, people took the time to type in the domain name and go to the site.

That's why I rate the traffic in this experiment as being significantly less valuable than even YouTube traffic.

    Jon

looks like 1stmarketingtraffic has the highest Visitors Who Actually Saw the Page.
How much did you order from them?

A very good experiment for all DP members! Jon's stats gave us a very good insight into buying bulk traffic.

I learned a few things from this. Thanks :)

I did too. bulk traffic is no good for sales. I now understand why awstats was always lower than what the traffic company stats were saying.

these traffic buying are all worthless, there only good to increase your stats to show to advertiser, when u want to sell ads, or links, but for sale its no good.
