Did your site face any hacking attempt or get hacked ??? Did you use any famous Open Source/Tinned Scripts ??? Or use your own script that you code or borrowed ??? Comment on the problem faced when your site get hacked and by whom.
site hacked once in 3 years, they only chamge the index page and added an image file to the server, and as i had a backup of the server from the same day it just cost me a few clicks of a mouse, delete the server, change all passwords, and upload the backup. although the site was down for 4 hours, it only took 3 minutes of work to fix it, much less than the time it took them to hack it, so hacking a site proves what? you have to much time on ya hands, and cant turn it to make money. who's proving who is the fool here? 1-0 to sammie
My website has never got hacked and I hope they never do, I know alot of people who has had their websites hacked though, they lost all their work - thats why you need to backup!
Samantha, Don't think that hackers are fools ............. ! You understand that ur site is hacked bcoz they changed ur index page and some others.But if they add some things else that u never notice like adding some back door to kill ur bandwidth .......... or just create some warz/terror sites on ur server ............ or other methods that we all never expect ..... So don't think that they are foolz. According to me ( I know many Great Hackers & know a much more abt them ) hackers are the persons who are great in Computer World. In computer World ; :- A software Engineer knows only Software and programming :- A hardware Engineer knows only Hardware :- A network Engineer knows only networking :- A webmaster/web designer/scripter knows only scripting and web..... But A HaCkEr is a perosn who knows all this above ......... >>> He make use of all the tricks,tips,techniques and all in computer to win his path.
yea and so what? he cant make money, so he turns to disrupting others from making money, i told you i deleted my whole server and uploaded a backup, so nothing on the server is there, that they put on, they only have a few hours of fun, while a site is down, thats all, they take longer to hack a site, so i'm happy, and they got what? a screen shot to show i was hacked, lol wow i bet they make a mint from that.
well said, so how to prevent it? I am worried too. the other day, one of my site apparently get hacked. I was lucky enough to see the suspicious files in my server. So immediately, i delete that file away. Now, I have moved that site to another host in the hope that he will not hack my current server. Sigh... what else can i check on my dedicate server?
I remember around 97 or so, I did my first website, downloads for aol tools and stuff. I got a top rank on a good topsite for about a month or so, and someone hacked it, deleted everything, and left his signature on my index page.
I really dont understand the whole concept of hacking. It isnt about the money, it isnt about the revenge (usually) it seems to be just a hobby to prove you can do it. Maybe I should open a hacker trade site. Competition pissing you off? Wanta fuck wit um? Just 19.99 a job......Then go tell some moldy hacker that I bet them 5 bucks they cant hack so and so...Hey wait that just might work...

Toby, Hackers are of many types ; basically three types : 1) White Hat Hackers 2) Black Hat Hackers 3) Grey Hat Hackers White hat are the people who are the real Hackers.They work for truth and they are the one who found out most of the security bugs and report it to the software authorities for patch.They work for good and they never try to attack others. Black hat are the people who are bad hackers often called as Crackers (No software crackers/reverse engineering).There main intention is distroy.They are the one who create viruses and other malwares to kill the computer. Grey hackers are the people who are in between this two they do both the things according to the situation. As some one comment on this, " they might be mad " , don't think that they are mad.When that persons site hacked from the index page he/she might notice abt it.But what can be the case if some thing else happends. Don't think that ur really away from them bcoz they might have put some backdoor in u to make there work easy. And don't think that to hack a site ( like our poor site ) it take long days or hours.A professional hacker with the great knowledge can hack ur site within seconds. Prevent Hacking : 1) Undate the software/script patchs. 2) Check ur scripts update. If u own a dedicated server then make sure abt the all software including the OS updates. This can make ur site secure to a limit. But ............ Think if a pro Hacker thinks to attack you.Then he will do it !!! He will find bugs that it unknown to the world or which have no patchs .........
I've been hacked numerous times. Generally some idiot who tries to blackmail me one way or another.. I wont elaborate though.
Ever a guy added a hide link on one of my clients's site(PR 6 homepage ). i found it a month after. also,it happened to my good friend,his google adsense ID was changed to the hack's ID.
Some little script kiddies attacked a site that was owned by someone else that I knew. Lets just say I took care of taking them down, and contacting some companies
