Yes construction was hit hard 90 percent of my work is HVAC repair. 10 percent installs. I work for warranty companies do to the housing problem, now. there is not much building going on and I think alot of contractors are now in my game, doing the repair thing. this has cut my work to half of what it was last year.
My job is not yet affected by recession, however, I think at the time of appraisal, there would be some effect.
My living comes from online and to be honest things have been better financially for me the last few years than it was before the recession started. It really depends on what industry your in and what job position you hold
I have been designing website since 1992 and doing SEO work as a hobby, after losing my job I had so many people tell me to go full time into web design and SEO. Business is great and picking up more and more clients every day. In fact I turn down work. So even if the economy is down we are going up. Word of mouth and proven results drive new customers business our way.
Yes it has. I make money when the company gets new projects. Two projects that were supposed to come in this week, are coming in two weeks. So, I got no work for another week.
Thank God am not hit by the recession as of now..Our work is going smoothly and wish it would be like that only in future.
My day job yes (contractor turned w2). My blog writing and article writing business up 25%. Lots of money has been historically made in downturns. I'm actually looking to go completely full time Jan 2010, doubling income.
A friend of mine has a friend who lost his job. Very sad. I wasn't affected by the recession since I make 12.000$ a month working from home.
