Is your directory really spam free?

I have 4 free directories but the most submissions received are site made for adsense, hot keywords or just affiliate links.

My new directory received 1000+ submissions but only 350 approved. The free pr6 directryonly have 995 links but I have seen many new direcetories got 1000-4000 active links, all them are good quality sites?

We run a directory for what? Earning money or Doing evil?

Doing evil off-course … :D I have to refund a loot of MFA and low quality sites, and costs me a loot to give back $45 featured links, so I can guarantee my directory is SPAM free.

I have opposite problem. My directory is for MFA sites only, but I receive more sites without Adsense than sites with Adsense.:D

Every day spam comes in, but at the end of each day Forplex Business Directory is spam free

Spam is a problem that most sites have to deal with and it sucks

The big difference on free you just delete, on paid you have to delete and refund it costs you a loot more.

I have 4 active directories. (Get too much spam - not sure what to do)
And a few nitch directories. (even regular links come very rare, spam comes every now and them but very few submissions.

Basically run it for now and once the PR update comes and if I get a good PR I want to charge so, I will have less work fighting spam.

And i am thinking just ask for a Dollar per submission and not refund if the site is not accepted. (That is going to be a review fee not a listing fee)

    Any ideas are welcome.

    Just use delete Key.

    Thanks

If it wasn't, it's not worth a dime to run.

It's a directory owners job to keep it spam free, although with 20+ new directories per day...i think that is getting fogged.

Some people don't realize the reasons for starting a directory and distinguishing it from all the rest. (ie. Free scripts, free templates, category dumps)

we run a directory to list the best websites on the web and compile them into one site. Of course i've an easiness to accept a site submitted if the guy paid for it than if he submitted for free..

IWD is a free directory, you can check the category Society & Culture i'm working on it, i constantly add sites to that directory (with my 128k internet connection) so that i don't only depend on the site submitted :)

Can anyone explain how to determine one submitted website is SPAM or not..

I mean guidelines to find a website is SPAM or a quality one.

I believe this guidelines will help all other directory owner who started their new websites..

    Thanks in advance..
