Yahoo is much more lenient on the rules than Google. You don't have to battle quality score issues. I find they convert quite well for me.
Someone in this post said there is no way to use a bulk uploader like Adwords Editor. This is true but i gave them a call about that and found a way. In the top righthand corner in YSM you can find a customer service button. If you build your ads in excel you can then send it over to them and they have a bulk uploader that you can use. It takes about 2 days to get it all up and running. But I find it easier than doing 500 ads in their platform.
Yahoos results in alot of causes can be a much better ROI than Google. I should know, I'm an avid PPC marketer
The only way to really know is to track your yahoo campaigns. For me it's working good on some niche and not so good for others. Track and decide after.
I haven't tried Yahoo but I am currently testing Google out and starting to get several clicks. This thread gives me more insight about Yahoo. I might test them out as well at a later date to compare results.
Google is frighteningly expensive for my keywords.... I did a little trick to get us into the first Yahoo page of results - but frankly I've made no business from it. I agree that it's all a case of 'suck it and see'.. you just need to give it a go over a couple of months and see what the results are.
you may also want to try setting up an rss feed of your site on your yahoo personal home page. it help your new content get indexed faster!
when it comes to tracking i prefer to track adwords as i am seeing a lot of conversions but on the other hand, i am seeing results from Yahoo as well. so basically, i actually have a mutual treatment for both.
i'm making $100+ per day just from YSM and my spending budget is around $2000 - $3000 / mo. Yahoo is fine. Google is a bit better in terms of exposure. Yet if you can conquer both, then perfect!
hmmmn... $100 per day??? Mind if I ask how much time do you spend monitoring your adwords? Or do you pay someone to do it for you?
