In case of quantity, google has a huge number of traffic. But if I consider the useful traffic, then yahoo has greater number.
That makes sense, people being tired of the rubbish Google gives - considering how people keep on focusing on Google to promote their website.
Google have traffic that is greater in number than Yahoo. But you talk about the quality traffic, Yahoo may provide you the better.
Yes, if you need pure traffic in numbers just to increase visitors to your website, you need traffic from Google. But, Google generally send all type of traffic to websites, the majority ends up being sh*t! If you want traffic that are being turned into paying customers then you need to focus on Yahoo! We have purchased full rights and ownership on 3 products about 8 years ago. For 7 years Google sent a lot of traffic, but our sales stayed in the $XXXX range, even with Google Analytics for the whole year, each year. Last year we moved to a new company providing services using Yahoo!. This year we have reported sales exceeding $XXXXXX. Our sales per month now reach $XXXX. We spent up to $8000 per month on Google's Adwords, which was a huge waste of money. We are no longer interested in Google, their search engine or any service they provide. We get less traffic, but definitely more sales and money.
I actually don't agree with any of those points. 1. If somebody is searching for something, it means they are looking for it. No matter which search engine they use to find the site, they will still behave in the same way when they get there. 2. Totally impossible to say. Yahoo still gets millions of visitors every day, some are more discerning than others. It's the type of visitors you site attracts that's more relevant rather than the search enginge they use to find it. 3. I think point 1 covers this. Why would people who use Google not be serious about what they are searching for? Like I mentioned above, if somebody is searching it means they want to find something. It's also true that for some search terms the results presented by Yahoo are better than those presented by Google. It's entirely possible that traffic from Yahoo converts better than traffic from Google. This is likely to be because your site is ranking better in Yahoo for better keywords rather than the calibre of the searcher. You should not rule out any of the search engines. While the other, smaller search engines may get a smaller proportion of visitors than Google, they still gets millions and millions of users every day.
Logically there should not have any difference. But I have experienced better quality traffic from yahoo than google.
Exactly you cannot compare google traffic with yahoo traffic. Traffic is always traffic. It does not matter from where they come. Really it is. But it is true that you will get more traffic from google than yahoo.
I think both of them is good, why must choose between yahoo and google. better choose them to get traffic to your website.
I think they are close, but i think that Google traffic might be slightly higher by a couple of hundred more searchers
