Is Yahoo Search Markering fraud?

Discussion in 'Yahoo Search Marketing' started by Duriel, Oct 1, 2010.

I signed up to yahoo search marketing and deposited 30$ through paypal to try it out. After I saw that 28$ was used, I paused the campaign because I read that yahoo will charge my account automaticly when 30$ is spent. A few hours later yahoo charged another 30$ despite the pause. So I decided to go to Paypal and disallow yahoo from charging again. I decided to use the new 30$ for advertising but a few hours later I got an e-mail telling me that yahoo couldn't charge my Paypal account so my ads won't be displayed. But when I look at my account, I see that there's still 29$ which can be used for advertisements. Should I just accept that Yahoo Search Marketing is fraud, leave my 29$ there and move on. Or is there a way to use it for advertisements without being charged as an endless cycle?

    Thanks for the replies.

Call them, they will help you out.

I had a smiliar problem with them and after I contacted Yahoo and explained the situation, it was all taken care of. Unfortiunately, when you pause a campaign, it usually take a few hours for the campaign to be stopped everywhere(that depends on your campaign settings) so that could be why you were charged another $30 after you had paused it.

Simply email them and explain what the issue is. Don't you think it is little ridiculous to put down company of a size of "Yahoo" for your $30 balance? obviously they are doing something right, which is why they are still continuing to do business.
Email their tech support and wait for their response.

I probably would disagree with you because google is loosing lots of traffic everyday to facebook. Why do you think adwords coupon is poping up all over the place?

Agreed to a certain extent, because google is still the king but it is indeed suffering from a loss. Facebook has captured the largest part of its kingdom and now google is afraid of facebook's increasing popularity.

What type of information do you need about google buddy, just search on this forum and you will so many options to choose from. Else, start a thread with a genuine query on DP and you will probably get the best answer here.

Yes -- I had the same problem with yahoo. They initiated $30 payments for like 10 times in about 10 minutes. Because they're yahoo, my bank didn't think it was a fraud. They refunded the money but I never used yahoo again for personal use. Only for my clients.

If you are doing business in English world, you should use Adwords.
In Asia as Taiwan, Korea, Hong kong and Japan, Yahoo is better.
However, if you comare Google and Yahoo with the clickable range on their ads, I prefer Google as an advertiser.

Nobody uses Yahoo anymore... all they are good for is their directory which is grandfathered into being relevant. Obviously no one uses directories anymore except to boost PR, which is all that is good for too.
