Is yahoo now better than Google?

I am struggling to work out why Google does not seem to index all of my site nor recognize the links from other websites. It does not recognize one single link.

Yet, however when I look up yahoo, they have all the correct links listed and have indexed the entire site.

The website has been up for well over a year and still google continues to ignore us. Has google lost the plot? Is yahoo now a better search engine? I am starting to think so.

We have done everything possible to make our site google-friendly.

How does Yahoo become a better engine when its easier to tweak it? and your talking about backlinks.. google doesnt care about constant updates of links so they have like once in a while updates and dont list all of the links

Sorry man, I disagree... (For the second time today ;))
Yes. Google's results are slipping majorly as a result of new(ish) filters they have placed on their algo.

Yahoo is producing better results than Google.

If the big G isn't picking up your site yet, then my best advice would be to not fret too much, don't do anything too rash (Like going off and getting 10,000 backlinks in a day), and just wait it out.

It's a real pain, but they call the shots - and if they really want to f**k up their results, far be it from be to tell them otherwise.

    like all times before
a link to the domain in question would make a qualified LOOK at possible cause possible instead of wildly and unqualifiedly guessing

Google bot IS and always has been FAR more sensitive to bugs in code
Googlebot requires fully validated code to work perfect !!

YES to Yahoo - for my site as well it appears that since a months or so ( last G update ) Y provides far more traffic and far better results than G
nearing zero G traffic however Y compensates and without G i still have same traffic NOW than with G a year ago - thanks to increased efforts of Y AND msn search as well.

I'd agree that is better to have validating code than not but I do well in Google and have never been able to get my pages validating 100%.

I can't agree with you more.... For I had a similar comment in another thread. Although I think MSN is a little better than Yahoo. I don't care how often Google crawls a website, even if it's every minute of the day, If they don't share that information and update their potential results for the public to have, and these other search engines are, how can Google, be the best. I have a website that is only 2 weeks old that is showing up on MSN with some of my main keywords where as Google don't even have that website indexed yet.

I'm basing it on when I compare the results I receive from my stats on my websites. But this is only my opinion. Nothing scientific....

OK - MSN works better for you - but I can assure you, it's not a better Search Engine than Yahoo.

It's FAR too easy to manipulate the results.

Well I'm not sure how to manipulate any results on any search engine. I try to optimize my websites to Google standards, seeing that most people are using that particular search engine right now. It's just that I get better result from MSN and Yahoo.

The reason I think google is falling behind is because of their anti-manipulation strategies. I know personally that we have not done anything to offend the google search engine, so therefore it seems as though their strategy is penalizing and impacting the genuine websites.

I believe they need to address this, as I am too am getting better results from yahoo.

Google is definately better than yahoo. Just look at the search results. Yahoo have spam and stupid irrelevant results all over the place.

Yes, yahoo update frequently but that does not mean they are good. The major indicator of a quality of an engine is shown by it it's search results, not now long it takes to index.

you know that there are many code errors that might have zero effect on any SE including G
and there are several code errors and NON-code syntax errors where ONE single error might kick an entire page OUT of serps
if such error is made on each page then all pages are on vacation .

unless YOU know exactly WHAT precise errors are fully tolerated by G or other SE, by knowledge or experience ( the only VALID experience would be to have a NUMBER of #1 serps in G WITH that kind of code error against more than a million other competing pages with equal keywords. )

it always is possible to have 100% clean validated code as long as you create your own pages ( static or dynamic ) or as long as you use CMS there you know how to change code accordingly to remove any bug-creating part until clean validated code is produced.

problematic is the situation where you use non-open source AW that creastes junk like my own 5 forums ( in this case i knew it in advance and i also knew that G and all major SE can fully tolerate THAT kind of errors.)

where ever possible the only safe way is to have fully valid code.

Google is definitely slower than any other search engine to index. Not sure if I like that.
