Is yahoo future safe?

Hi I'm intending to buy a yahoo hosting plan considering it offers unlimited space currently, however i read that microsoft is intending to buy yahoo. The question is, is yahoo going to change drastically, or is it a simple change of ownership without change in the way things are run. I know that Microsoft is very tight on hosting space.

Microsoft did make an unsolicited offer to buy Yahoo! and gave them a deadline that expired yesterday. The Wall Street Journal reports today that it appears that Microsoft's next step "may" be a hostile takeover... However, at this time it is too early to speculate "if" the two companies will actually merge and what that merger will look like.

what i'm concern is is the takeover merely a matter of investment or do they intend to change yahoo to their standards.

Even if Microsoft does by Yahoo its not going to get ride of its products and services especially ones that generate revenue for the company.

You will have a contract if you buy there hosting, so even if Microsoft buys Yahoo! they will have to keep your contract. Also it wouldn't make sense getting ride of the profitable things of Yahoo! However, I don't know if their hosting is profitable :)

I strongly suggest that you consider getting a different web host, I have heard many
negative things about yahoo hosting. I do not think anyone can honestly tell you
whether or not yahoo will change if Microsoft takes over, only time will tell.

I have used Yahoo hosting and its run of the mill hosting. You can get better hosting at a cheaper cost. As far as being safe, even if they are bought out by somebody their hosting and their other services are going to be intact at least for some time.

If microsoft buys yahoo, trust me, they'll buy their servers and plans too.
They buy the entire site, same staff same everythig, just new owner.
don't wory and take the plan.

Once you pay for your hosting, that becomes a contract which Yahoo must honour whoever owns them. It makes no difference who owns the company, if you have a contract with them the new owners are legally bound by that contract. You can go ahead safe in the knowledge that you will get what you pay for...
