Yahoo is quite a pity, it did not leverage on its eyeballs when it can. Too contented with a dominant position. With Google coming in with disruptive technologies such as its dominant search engine, Yahoo is pushed into a corner. Sure Yahoo is older but that's more of a liability on the Internet nowadays. Yahoo still has its stable of gems, and hopefully it can leverage on tumblr instead of buying it and letting it rot somewhere.

I'm actually surprised that Yahoo has quit it's Status tool. I haven't been on Yahoo much since. I'm surprised, too. I would've thought a company like Yahoo would want to stay more in the social networking game. Still, they are my secons favorite news network behind MSN/Windows Live.

Yahoo have too choices as I see it. Either die slowly or win big.
To die slowly they just need to do nothing at all.
To win big they have to activate their Yahoo Publisher network and yahoo ads for users all around the globe and not for big companies only as it is for now and begin competing with google for the big cash.

I think so, if Yahoo thinks of small business, but not large businesses in terms of ad publishing then it may win the game as well.

However, Yahoo has kept its identity as of now, there is no changes, it is still working in the way as it was working 10 years before.. It is not trying to copy Google as well, this is really good thing for a company.
