Is YSM doing the best job of weeding out made for adsense sites from their PPC results? I recently came across a site, thethread.com, which is nothing but a collection of paid links. Google and MSN are still allowing this worthless site to buy PPC advertising (almost any search on phrases related to thread will include this spam site in the results), but it doesn't show up on any relevant Yahoo searches that I tested. When I complained about thethread.com I got this response from MSN: I am going to submit your concerns to the editorial and policy department of Microsoft adCenter. The fact that the "thethread.com" site made it through the editorial process the first time doesn't leave much chance for a reconsideration, but I personally see your point, and we'll see where this leads. Decisions made by manual editorial review are final. I am willing to bet that this spammer spends a lot of money for PPC advertising. Unfortunately, people are eventually going to stop paying for clicks if all the PPC ads lead to turd sites like this one. I realize this is a microscopic sample, but I was wondering if any of you have noticed a difference between the 3 major search engines and their PPC programs.
