Very few people use directories to search. Most use Google. So its kind of daft to pay a premium to get yourself listed on Yahoo for traffic you are unlikely to get. Niche directories that are recognised as a authoritive resource in a niche market would be a far better bet. If however its your serps you are interested in, you need a site which allows anchor text to start with. Does Yahoo accept anchor text? I think not. And finally if it is PR you are chasing, you are a lost cause and won't listen anyway.

If the question is about its worth, Then yes it is worth to pay 300$ a year for that directory...
But if you already have good serp try some other good options which dont require you to pay that huge...

$300 is not bad for a permanent link from a high quality site. Anyone else got any results to report?

I don't think it worth 300$ per year although it brings traffic and provides a high quality backlink but still 300$ per year is too much!!!!!!!!!

No it's not. Considering what you could get for the money. A good PR 7 site with low out bounds.

I would like to purchase some good authority PR links on good sites rather than paying 300$ for yahoo directory.

It only makes sense for very valuable websites. And it depends on the average income per visitor. I can't imagine that many of us own sites that could make more than $300 per year only through a Yahoo Site listing.

Based on the sites you've seen in sigs since entering this month? :)

Like you said, just depends on the income per visitor
Not gonna start naming names, but I can think of quite a few here for whom it wouldnt take many conversions to cover $300, after which each thereafter would be profitable. That's just based on direct traffic in limited quantities without consideration of any other associated benefits.

    Looking beyond ROI
I also wouldn't discount Yahoo as a way to get a good site needing exposure on the radar even if NOT immediately justified by a direct ROI calc. That's a high profile address, and among other things, large directories like Yahoo are a common source many other directories mine for links when category building. A listing there has hard to quantify benefits w/ tangible effects.

Nope... not worth three hundred bucks in my opinion. ... My site in the yahoo directory brings in about 10 unique visitors per year

If you have a good advertising budget, then it's worth a shot.
