For me is irrelevant, at least in my SEO point of view. Several years back it was very useful, people got the yahoo directory backlink or Dmoz directory and "boom!", they got a boost in their SERPs. bBut nowadays you've gotta work harder to get good rankings, as these directories are not as influent as they were before, the web has grown a lot, and there are many, many ways to get backlinks other than directory submissions. Blog commenting, forum profiles, web 2.0, .edu blog comments, contextual backlinks, etc. these are the backlinking method that nowdays give GOOD results.
I have submitted to the Yahoo Directory with good results especially with Yahoo searches for my key words. I didn't know that DMOZ was defunct and not accepting any new entries, is this true?
dmoz is not accepting any links easily you should follow rules guideline while submissions for good approval rate in dmoz
dmoz is crap. It was useful 10 years ago, but now it doesn't make sense to waste time and effort trying getting your website accepted on that directory. You'll get better, cheaper and faster results by doing or buying any other SEO backlink activity, such as blog comment backlinks, .edu backlinks (these are very valuable backlinks), contextual backlinks, etc...
Yahoo directories is good in bringing traffic to your site. But as you have said you are working well in your SEO so I think it doesn't matter if you use yahoo directories or not as long as you are doing good on optimizing your site..
