Is yahoo better than google?

It's been awhile since I've used yahoo search. Mostly just use google. The only time I search yahoo is when on yahoo answers.

LOL none of you answered the OP'S question he is ranking like 1,000 in Google and 6 in Yahoo why is that so i know why because your site has been sandboxed by google u need to send them a reconsideration request so that they could get u back in the top position in the search engine

 

I think most people use google while only those with yahoo mail or msn tend to use yahoo (not all of them). Well for my area anyway.

you know...for a man accustomed to work with google, yahoo is difficult to service because they have a different interface and is very difficult to get used to Google's if you use yahoo, but I think Yahoo will never be better than google.

 

yes. Google and Yahoo are two giant search engines. but google is widely known all over the world.

 

Google is much fastest then Yahoo, but yahoo has also good service like messenger, videos and email services.

Google is a keyword based search engine and in yahoo it is easy to get rank for site.So try to work on keywords of your site in google.

Actually Google is not longer as reliable as it used to be. Simply try to search something using advanced operators like quoted words or + and - signs and you will end up with absolutely irrelevant content that has nothing to do with your query.

Even though, Google is still better than Yahoo, and much better than Bing.

Google and Yahoo these are two different search engines and follow different algorithm. Mostly when you get the top 10 ranking in Yahoo for that keyword you not get same ranking in google and vice versa. Mostly lot of sites get more traffic from google so I think you try to get ranking in google.

 

Both of yahoo and Google have different algorithms. They consider different factors when ranking websites. I suggest that you work on with SEO for Google because its what most people use. Yahoo search users is quite rare, Google is preferred.

Yahoo is better only if you sell ads or some good products because it brings you US and Canada visitors, google brings a lot of visitors from Pk, In, and many other countries that are not so good for ads or products.
Finally, Yahoo brings less but quality visitors, instead google, gives you a lot of visitors but they are not so good quality.

 

Try to climb the rankings of both. Either way, you work on the on page and off page SEO. However, for Yahoo, their yahoo answers platform is great for getting on the top of the SERP quickly because it is such high authority. There are softwares out there that help you maintain that position for longer as well

I think your SEO work is most relevant to Yahoo bot, but not good to google bot. If you want to rank better on google, you have to aim at google and do some optimization work. As we all know google's occupation ration in the search engine filed, if your website can rank first on google, the effect will be much better than ranks no.1 on yahoo.
