I was a professional wrestler for over 20 years, and wrestling isn't "fake" in the sense that it is exactly what it purports to be. It is equal parts athleticism and soap opera. Of course the endings are planned out, but that is how wrestling can guarantee a good show, as opposed to other sporting events which can be a blowout by halftime or end in a 20 second knockout. When I was teaching at various wrestling schools through the years, what I try to impress most upon the younger guys is that wrestling is first and foremost about telling a good story! It's great if you've got some sick skills to show or you're into some twisted pain, but unless you give the audience a reason to love or hate you, who cares? Get them into the dynamics of the conflict. Of course, it's a lot easier for the WWE to do this with boatloads of TV time, while in the independents, we have to tell our stories all in one night. But, if you're good, you can pull it off. Does it hurt? YES! The business is the most physically brutalizing sport/entertainment that I know of or can imagine. Is the blood real? Yes. Sometimes it's planned bloodletting. We'll take a small piece of razor blade and "gig" open a cut. Many times the blood comes the "hard way", which means it was't planned, but somebody got jacked open. Are the endings planned? Of course. Do guys get mad and really fight? On Occasion. It's called "shooting." Cheers, -Rusty- aka, Crazy Curtis Candy
Finally a real person who know about it and I think I have seen you not sure though what you say is true and I know it. Thanks for the truth man
I see that most of us agree WWE is fake. Then why is it that there's a lot of fan following for them?
The manegers write the scripts before the start of the fight, that is what i heard. so these are all planned.
