It depends upon your definition. The United States, for example, is rapidly devolving into a basket case. It's become the world's most advanced Kleptocracy.

Mexico has a higher GDP (PPP) than any of the five troubled nations which I listed -- even higher than oil-rich Venezuela. Starting in 2000, Mexico had a mostly peaceful democratic handover of power from a fairly lousy socialist party that kept the nation from advancing for seventy years. Since that time it has been slowly moving forward to improve the quality of life for all of it's citizens. The major issues facing it are a disaffected and often violent Indian population, violent and well-organized remnants of the previous socialist regime, and a turf war to control the lucrative drug trade. Of these, the drug war is getting the most press, but the socialists represent a larger threat to the nation. The drug dealers only want to be left alone, the socialists desire power over the entire populace. With all of these issues combined, Mexico is still in far better shape than any of the true "basket cases" which I listed.

BTW, Mexico isn't in South America. I should point that out before someone else does.

Looks like we took a step closer to WW3, today north Korea shelled south Korea and killed 2 soldiers and injured more. South Korea returned fire and ordered the Military to bomb north Korean Bases, if they attack again. Korea is trying to decide if they will retaliate...

This will no doubt bring China and the U.S into the conflict, and it doesn't help that a crazy lil runt across the street has nukes... The U.S has 25k troops in south Korea, and will not stand for American troops being killed...

Looks like WW3 may come sooner then I thought...

China doesn't like those guys anymore than we do. They just like to keep em around to be a thorn in our side.

I'm pretty sure that number is closer to 30k, with another 42k nearby in Japan.

You are obsessed Spencer in unfounded hatred in ideological politics that is nothing less than sociopathic.

By the way, Southerners consider anything south of the Rio Grand to be South America....go murder someone over it.

He's not likely to do that, because that action would force the U.S. to force China to invade North Korea and kill him.

Instead, he's just going to be as annoying as humanly possible without risking significant retaliation.

In 1987, they blew up Korean Air Flight 858. In 1996, the landed a group of commandos via submarine and roamed the South Korean countryside murdering people. In March they torpedoed the South Korean corvette Cheonan.

And what has been done in retaliation for these heinous acts... well... mostly we ship them rice.

From a purely behaviorist standpoint, Kim Jong Il is acting as we have trained him to act.

I didn't even think about it that way, now the world will think there is no way we can afford anymore nuclear states, and try to prevent it even if it means war... This might even give Israel more reason and support to stop Iran from obtaining nukes... nice observation babak...

I feel am traitor to my country! lol

scare of Iran is undrestandable, beside Iran has much influence in the region that N Korea hasn't in East Asia.
I think Israel won't be primary target for our regimen when they obtain nuke power but Arabic countries Sheikh are. It's nightmare for countries in south of Persian Gulf I think.

Yep. Iran already throws it's weight around as much as it thinks it can without getting seriously spanked. Once it has Nukes, it will likely feel any real retaliation will not be possible. As you point out, Saudi Arabia and all the rest of the Gulf states will then need Nukes by necessity, just to avoid being abused by Iran. I personally think Kim Jong Il is one of a few world leaders that would actually use his nuclear capacity out of spite prior to his eventual overthrow, even if that overthrow came from within his own country. China is the only country that can effectively threaten him, so it will be interesting to see what their play is.

yeah you are right. now world reach to an complicated point.
N Korea conflict showed countries have to protect their self and can't reliance in world powers for ever.
European socialists don't like to spend their money to protect others and now just USA that is world police. I guess gradually American thinking they need their money for their selves and should not solve all the problems in the world alone and protect other, anyway USA is in recession now.

North Korean people are starving and seems for prevent them to spread their nukes has to feed their people by bully and get food from rich countries around! I don't now until when it work for them but as you mentioned many countries in Middle East will pay them a huge price for gaining such power.

Really why attack people who choose to be gay. The supposed religion of peace should at least be able to tolerate others no matter their individuality. Which is why I am Atheist. At least that way, I have my own personal beliefs that I have decided for myself instead of a book telling me what is right and wrong.

As for the Korean issue, I don't know what to make of it. It is sad that they are fighting however the situation in North Korea ... well, it doesn't belong in today's age; I don't think. The population of the North could be in such a better position. It makes me want the South to attack the North to hopefully liberate the country. However the amount of casualties and deaths which will occur is going to very high in doing so. It is either now or never.

Well to be fair I don't know that it's a choice. I'm bisexual and it isn't like I woke up one day and thought "I think I'll start diggin' chicks now!" :p

That said, I agree with you - the kid you're responding too is a douche bag. He thinks women should wear sacks, amongst other things.

Well first of all I don't know if he's gay, so I take that back, just one of those slips of the tongue.

Secondly I'm not alone in the world to say homosexuality is wrong, not too long ago it was not even allowed under law, people used to say its a mental disease. I'm not sure but gays are not allowed in the army (correct me if i'm wrong), this is discrimination, no?

One of the biggest arguments against homosexuality is that If the whole world becomes gay the human race becomes extinct. Is fighting against homosexuality not a peaceful cause? one gay person said i'm being racist, and I said no, you are racist, because you want to kill all mankind!
