True, wordpress is one good thing to start and run a website. Now a days, many different types of wordpress themes are available. You can simply make an article website or you can even make an Image Slideshow on wordpress (using custom themes). Plugins are playing their huge role in making wordpress more successful. All In One SEO Pack is one of the best plugin available for wordpress to make your web, a completely Search Engine Optimized web. The best part of wordpress is that, anything you update will be shown on the MAIN Page. Visitors, Viewers and Readers now a days like extremely simple website, easy to browse and easy to find things on a web; instead of going through whole website finding for their desired stuff. Wordpress has also defeated vBulletin (Forums) in terms of simplicity. Overall, wordpress is definitely the best package to run with All in ONE SEO Pack installed
I am using wordpress from past 2 year and wordpress is the best blogging sofware for seo. A plugin named "All in one" seo does everything that is necessary for seo purpose and if you have thesis theme then you have nothing to worry about seo for your blog.
Wordpress is an open source CMS.. is widely used for blog.. Google really seems to love wordpress.com. I don’t mean the blog you have at your web host or server, I mean the blogs hosted by wordpress at their site. If you create a blog with some good information in it, it will be listed very high in page ranking.
I agree that WP + SEO addins are the way to go. I use the All in One SEO Pack. SupplementResearch mentioned permalinks and I cannot agree more. Having been a newbie and not understanding permalinks I did not change the out-of-the-box default setting. Big mistake. After about 50 posts I became educated about permalink structure being critical to your SEO. I tried to change the permalink on my existing blog. All seemed to go well until a few hours later when all of my posts went missing. Ouch! Good thing I had a backup (another essential WP add in - I use Online Backup for WordPress which gives free storage on their site) Anyway for good SEO make sure you change your permalinks and do it BEFORE you do any posts. I suggest you go to Settings, Links, Custom and use /%postname%/
Self hosted wordpress is really seo friendly. There are numerous number of plugins which make your blog easier. All you need is make an install, find a good theme, add a few popular plugins, and wait. I do recommend Thesis Theme, but it's premium, costs $87. Thesis theme is really SEO friendly, and you dont even need to add any other SEO plugin. I use the same for my blog.
As a freelancer for 3 years, it's a yes for me.. Wordpress is very dynamic and it has lots of plugin you can use to optimize SEO..
Plus, Google LOVES Wordpress. Build a self-hosted blog, make some regular posts and Google will be all over you.
Yes, just make sure that SEO friendly links are turned on. There is a good plugin for this sort of thing, just can't remember it.
For the beginner, yes. After a while you start to experiment in a lot of other things and wordpress just doesn't have the flexibility of say... ModX. I'm not a fanboy by a long shot - I created www.DiscountVouchers.co.uk with wordpress, that's how I became acquainted with it's shortcomings.
