I'm a Microsoft server user, so not versed in the world of PHP, vBulletin, or WordPress... But I'm making a blog for a friend, and don't want to spend the time to learn anything new (ie: php)... So I decided to use "WordPress"... Is it SEO-friendly? Does google like it? Is it hard to make the pages look nice? Hard to install? I did some research and it looks interesting and adaptable... I just want to hear from current word-press users and see how they feel about it... thanks!
WordPress is great...easy to setup...lots of great plugins and free themes. Jim Westergren has a great guide for WordPress SEO. Hope that helps!
also check out courtneytuttle.com because he has tips on seo with wordpress and he even has some modded themes which help with seo
The "All-in-one SEO pack" is absolutely fantastic--it's the sole SEO enhancement I use. It can be downloaded as a free plugin here: http://wp.uberdose.com/2007/03/24/all-in-one-seo-pack/ And wordpress is fantastic! Thanks, Paul
It’s quite easy to setup and get going, though if you seriously want to exploit its full power than you need to put it on a server that has Apache, else the mod_rewrite wont work.
There are rewrites of the mod_rewrite apache conf for other web-servers, including lighttpd - probably not relevant for OP, but hey... It's that easy! And if you have problems, one of the biggest pro's of using wordpress is a helpful community (also besides DP), and vast article resources and such - so you won't get stuck.
I agree with Paul. Go download this right now. If you want me to show you why it's great just give me a PM, I don't want to post all the junk here. I love SEO all in one.
wordpress rocks....and seo is much easy here.........so far it's better than blogger MT and.......... if u need to blog out wordpress is d best...also easy to install...
It is perfect, i love using it and it is so easy to find a great theme. Just try it out it is awesome.
