On that note...always self-host WITHOUT Godaddy. If this is your first time using WordPress you will be turned off very fast if you use GoDaddy.

Personally, I have made many sites. I have used Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal, and a few not-so-used ones. Joomla has the advantage of being more customizable in your menus and pages. But Wordpress is more widely used so it has more support along with more plugins. And those plugins can make Wordpress just as customizable as Joomla or Drupal.

Your main issue with that many post per day is going to be the speed of the site. There are lots of plugins (WP Super Cache being one of the better ones) that can speed your site up. As well as tweeks you can do. Joomla and Drupal don't really have such plugins that are that great.

I'm presently doing work on both Joomla & WordPress and now that it's been a few weeks, I can assure you that WP is leagues ahead in terms of functionality.

ALSO: Joomla is heavily reliant on external tools that choke out its overall effectiveness.

If you want to learn more about how far you can go with WP, check out the following article: http://www.johnbreese.net/custom-wo...an-interview-with-swift-author-satish-gandham

400-500 posts per day in a single blog? Or in a blog network? If you need to support a huge number of bloggers in a same network (each user has different blog), WordPress multisite is suitable for you.

I agree with you, if you're using the free one, you can't do nothing. you can't put your banners ad or adding some plugin also

Wordpress, no doubt. Wordpress is blazing fast but that's only if you use few of plugins such as caching, database clearing and such. And there's also page nav you can select which one to be in order and also, you can make any pages and select which one not to display on front of page but all of these are coming from some of plugins.

I have VERY successful with Wordpress and have no struggles at all, been running it for years, only problem while running Wordpress is pretty much trying to think of what to write about, that's it. The reason why I recommend you Wordpress is because there's easy install and as well several, if thousands of plugins you can install within' a minute if not less but some of others that isn't wordpress require integrating things which take a pretty while of time and there's several plugins that can integrate with few of forum software and Wordpress has its own forum and easily integrate with a install of plugin, the wordpress forum is called BBpress.

You would also have very successful with SEO on it as well, since there's couple of excellent SEO plugins to install and then you have some of options to your likings for the SEO. Wordpress is just simply best.
