Is Wordpress for me?

I have used wordpress on my domains and love it for the blogs that I have. I want to build several sites mainly for adsense income. I don't want to have to update content on a regular basis like I do to my current blogs. Are there themes in Wordpress that will look very similar to a website where I don't have to add content as often as I do in my blogs? Or would it be better to build a website for what I am trying to achieve? I really don't want to get away from using Wordpress if I don't have to.

 

You can modify wordpress or use one of the many plugins to make a wordpress site that looks like a "normal" website.

 

Use pages instead of posts and use the plugin that allows a page to be your entrance page for your site.

 

Would you happen to know the name of that plugin?

I have seen a few sites that are nothing but a Word Press blog. On the surface they look like a "regular" site but everything is blog material. The best thing is that these sites constantly ping Technorati and have a high ranking with Technorati.

 

I have done without any plugin; I just copy the index.php and renamed it to home.php, modified it to my needs and it worked without any plugin, has any one tried this?

i guess its built in in the wordpress if it finds a home.php in theme folder it bypass the index.php.

Please correct me if any thing wrong.

Here are two sites (Undercover Artists & Funky Maternity Clothes) that I have designed using wordpress that were built for the same reasons you are looking to do. Appear like websites, and include AdSense.

 

You can use any text editor, like Notepad. I actually do my hardcoding in Frontpage.
