is wordpress blogs no follow?

I have tried to comment many wordpress blogs. But today I read a threat in which a person said that most wordpress blogs are no follow. Is that true? if true, my work for commenting blogs are useless right?

 

Wordpress blogs are, by default, set to nofollow. There are many plugins and other ways to change this, but most webmasters leave it as nofollow either to reduce their moderation efforts or because they've never really thought about it.

If you have Firefox you can always right click on a link in the comments and check under properties to see if it is nofollow, but if its an interesting post and it gets traffic it can be worthwhile to have links that don't count for search engines. So I wouldn't call the effort completely worthless.

Ouah! I was thinking that the links in my wordpress blogs were do follows and I see they are not! What to do to make them dofollow ?

I have suscribe to comments. If the people suscribes and put a link, do they have a dofollow towards this link when they comment ?

 

that may be true of wordpress comments, but it's not true of the blogs themselves. You post an article to a wordpress blog you own, and your links will be whatever you specified them to be, follow, no follow, whatever.

it is not useless for some search engine, but google does not give credit to no follow link

 

If you are the owner of the WP blog you can set the nofollow attribute to 'follow'. Some blogs have done this. Earlier versions of WP had nofollow by defgault - but I believe this has been changed now - new installations are 'follow'

 

I have one blog in a new installation and the links in the comments are nofollow. I do not see any special specification in the settings of the blog for that!

 

Yes, by default wordpress are set to nofollow but there's a plugin already been made to make the links dofollow.

 

I did a baklinks anylysis of a site. It appears that if you register to the blog and give a site URL, then each time you comment you get a dofollow link. However if you put a link inside a comment, it is a nofollow link! So I think it is not too bad. But I will look for the good pluggin. Thanks Yuuko008.

Yep, Both blogger and wordpress blogs comments links are nofollow by default.

Most of them are nofollow. You can use nodofollow or seoquake to check if a blog is no or dofollow.
