Is Wordpress as good as any?

I have an established site and want to add a blog to it. Is Wordpress as good as any? Do most blogs have a look and feel similar to the main site or do they tend to have their own appearance?

    Thanks,

    Jon

You can endlessly customize/personalize it, only depends on the amount of money/time you've got :)

I've been using Wordpress for a little while now and I'm really pleased with it.

I've tried blogger too but for me Wordpress is the best out there :)

feel free to check out my blog example.

Go with Wordpress it's very well supported with many addons. Changing the appearance to match your site is possible through editing the templates.

When the first time create weblog i use blogger.com But not now. I fall in love with wordpress. You can download Wordpress software and put at your subdomain, folder by your hand or install from your cpanel. depends of you.

For an example see my weblog diary (I use and put at special folder)

Wordpress is so easy to mod if you have elementary CSS experience. You could even take a pre-existing template and just swap out or add in parts to it.

Wordpress is sweet, but with it's own set of issues. You need to read up about which plugins will serve you best and which theme will be good for you. Problems that I see with Wordpress are the duplicate content SEO issue, the permalinks should be changed from the default, many plugins will break with new versions of the program and you will be scrambling to have the same functionality if you upgrade. SO, don't upgrade for a while, and give everyone time to upgrade their plugins and themes. right now search for Wordpress 2.2 themes or Wordpress SEO themes. Make sure it is widget ready. This will save you loads of time changing the look of the site. I can ramble forever, but I am out now...

I think that WordPress is the best blogging software. Do to its open source nature there are so many great plugins and themes. Your options are limitless with WordPress.

    I highly recommend it.

WordPress all the way because it's not just a blogging tool but also a complete content management system with lots and lots of options. If you have any XHTML and CSS knowledge, you can easily customize a theme to your liking.
Or you can hire a WordPress consultant to do it for you.
Please feel free to contact me for more information.
