I would recommend finding an open source script that gives you more functionality than the wordpress plugin, especially if you would like to sell more than 1-2 goods. Also, if you are trying to sell music, be sure to get a shopping cart that allows customers to sample your music or audio files.
Wordpress is an excellent cms, but can be difficult for ecommerce. I too would recommend Magento as it's a piece of piss to install and setup.
I personally think that wordpress has limited features then other latest E-commerce technologies. So according to me it is better to go for the advance
It seems that many people are divided about using WP. I am in the process of installing a WP website for a client and now he wants to add an e-commerce section which is something that I am NOT familiar with. Could I have the main Website be a Wordpress blog and then have a link in the WP blogs navigation point to an e-commerce solution such as magento or some of the other ones mentioned? And how much would it approx. cost to have someone build it for me to add to the WP Website?
