I suggest everyone who still not having windows 7 beta or RC, please download it, use it, detect bugs and inform Microsoft about that bug by clicking the link in any window.
Vista is by far superior to Xp. However it does require lots of disk space, and it takes a long time to understand how to fully use it. The offers more funtions and is allows people to be more creative/personal. I recommend http://www.microsoft.com/windows/mojave-experiment/ to further understand Vista Good luck
Both are useful in different conditions. XP used by most people due to its easy and more feature. Vista use because it better to security purpose.
I would expect Vista will be a good OS, 2 years from now if Microsoft will put their minds into it. Other than that Windows 7 will be the next XP.
Windows XP is much ahead of vista. Simple to use and navigate. Use less resources than visat much ease of use than vista.
Microsoft failed with vista, so instead of fixing the countless bugs/errors/poor programming in vista, they bought out windows 7 instead, if your planning on upgrading at all from windows XP to another microsoft operatoring system, try out windows 7, although I suggest you stick to XP, if you really want a change, go to Ubuntu Linux.
Windows Vista is complete and utter crap! It's terrible! If you have 4gigs of ram, it will eat all 4gigs! My girlfriend has a brand spanking new laptop and it's already completely bogged down! My mother just bought a different brand new laptop and it's lagging out already too! I use a mac as my laptop and xp for my desktop. I'm completely blown away by how crappy vista is when I use either of their computers. *edit: after typing this I decided to move my girlfriend to Windows 7 instead of reverting back to XP. I just started a back-up of her data and I'm downloading 7 as we speak. Wish me luck.
Windows Xp is great and vista is even better i think.. If you look back on Xp it was extreamly buggy but by service pack 2 it was perfect.. Vista will get better with time i belive
You must not think very hard then. I remember XP before service pack 1 even. It was not nearly as shitty as Vista. XP actually worked with a few reg tweaks. I remember everyone at my old forum not wanting to upgrade to service pack 1. lol. Seems like Windows gets worse with each "upgrade". Vista sucks, end of story. Microsoft has abandoned the OS and moved on to Windows 7 in an attempt to stop Apple from continuing to steal MS customers. Realize I use "steal" in a cut-throat business world sense. Apple is earning the customers fair and square. *edit: PS I'm posting this from my macbook because I finally had it with MS about a year ago when my entire computer crashed and took a week to get back online as a result of simply removing some razor mouse drivers. I un-installed the mouse drivers and it wiped out every driver I had including the basic vga drivers. I still have an xp system here and my fiance has a vista (boo) computer, but these days, I only use mac unless I want to play games.
Ubuntu is good but not the best compared to Windows XP.. Vista really sucks because of its speed and performance... Win 7 is going to be a huge improvement over Vista... Running faster than XP. needs less space... less RAM... Fast Boot.. Gr8 Performance...
Vista is good for you if you have recommended hardware otherwise you will suffer a lot. I still use XP
in my opinion, XP proves to take up lesser RAM than Vista does, and vista have slower performance, as vista have all those cool looks and some high quality looks, however, Windows 7 will be similar to vista with all cool looks but faster than XP and vista.
i'll say XP is much better, Vista needs lots of memory, graphics card etc. and XP performance is better.
Your question is like asking "Firefox or IE", everyone has there likes and dislikes, there is no "better". Windows XP seems to run better even though I have a very good computer. Windows Vista I'm a lot more comfortable with, a lot of nice features and looks to it. Windows XP Blue screens of Death while Vista doesn't from my experiences. Windows Vista is a tiny bit less compatible with programs, especially old programs. Anyways, I can do this all day, you get my point. Try both, and you decide which you rather play with. Windows 7 looks good, but I can't sit there bug testing all day when I do a lot of things online. Windows 7 messes up Ventrilo randomly, and a world without Ventrilo, is not a world at all!
