    I am big fan of windows XP SP2 but not Vista. It requires high configuration pc, and it runs slow on average pc.

    By the by i have recently using windows 7 RC version and it is similar like vista but lot better than vista. It runs very smooth on average pc, as it does not require pc requirement like vista.

    So xp is better than vista, but win 7 looks great.

    i had used vista just for one day than after i removed it and installed my older win xp version. vista is not user friendly OS. i tried to operate it but it's not good, win xp is the best OS after win 98.

    I am using Vista right now because it came with my computer. It's ok for every day use. If you are using XP and you are happy with it then don't switch. Vista doesn't have anything special to offer. It just looks good.

    My first opinion goes to Linux. However, if you want me to compare these two; I'd definitely put Vista on high end machines.

    On my system with a Core 2 Duo e6320 and HD 3850 vista performs 3 times slower in ALL areas. Every area is 1/3 as fast, I mean. Whichever is accurate. Games load 3 times as long, I have 1/3 the frames, boot and application is not really that enhanced by the superfetch thing either - initialization of applications takes too long to launch. DOTnet/java seems really effected with this since they rely on that kind of pre-processing before they even run the main application.

    For MOST systems in people's homes today XP is going to be the king and most wise decision for a little while to come. Windows 7 I don't know yet and I didn't get in for the beta, but I know that unless you have a *really* fast system (i.e. core i7 and some serious ram and sata raid) vista is just too slow for me at least.

    I also think Mojave was really just Windows 7 alpha (they never showed us what they were showing them)

    i just reformat my machine to have XP back in it (originally i have vista). Vista is good but when you load a lot of software in it actually you are loading the time with together. Now i have another machine that run vista and mostly use by my sister.

    Nope.

    XP = Ninfy and Stable
    Vista = Ugly and buggy
    Ubuntu = BEAUTIFUL!

    I Prefer XP to Vista. As vista requires much disk space and Ram. Moreover its not compatible with every software.
    Well,Xp is cheap and fast at performance compared to vista.
    The only advantage with vista is the look and feel is awesome and very user-friendly.

    Not in my opinion. Stick with XP, get away from Vista. Don't see how anyone could say otherwise.. well, actually, if the Company (and you know which one I'm talking about) could come up with such a lower product.. then, it makes some sense.
    Anyway, keep your XP, old chum, probably better that way.

    Vista seems to e more stable for us. On the other hand we have to run XP on one machine because of software compatibility problems with Vista.

    It really depends what you are using your vista or xp based computers for? vista has its pros and cons same as xp. I have been using vista for almost 1+year have not got any problems like I used to when I was using xp based computer. Yes my computers are using the latest hardware most of the time so the hardware is not a issue.

    I also use mac computers only problem some of the software not directly compatible with mac. Love my vista based computer can't wait for to try the new release of windows 7 rc after trying the beta version which was really nice.
