Vista looks good and runs well if you have a beast of a computer but if your computer is average/good your best bet is to stay with xp. If you install ubuntu like nederlanders suggest or any *nix your computer will run amazingly fast after a STEEP learning curve.
I've found Vista Ultimate to be much better than XP but all indications are that Windows 7 will be even better than Vista.
I love XP and I haven't try Vista on the same machine. I had decided to upgrade to Vista , so I researched to find benefit from upgrading. But comparative performance chart from a famouse site , compare many applications running in XP and Vista, XP beat Vista almost any tests. I asked to myself, "Why I upgrade to Vista?".
What I do is if I have a computer, and it is older than, oh say 2 years old, I will just put a linux OS on it, if its newer, than I'll run vista, for the most part that is foolproof, as putting Windows Vista on an older machine is just taking any productivity left out of it, I would say Vista is better than XP in some cases, however in a lot of others it really blows, for instance, try running Vista on a machine with 512, it ain't happening, that is where linux comes in...
hello i agree with you window xp is better than vista . i used both but i like the xp because it the complete operating system and no require costly devices
as your question is according to that of course XP is the best.... but i will suggest you to loo forward to windows 7...i haven't used it but heard a lot that speed is amazing ...much better thn vista....
well, gosh were to start with vista...xp i find is much better- i call it more solid and down to business, faster, more reliable, vista is just to flashy for me tbh
Vista is bloated crap...I've tried o switch to it like 20 times, it never happened. It just annoys me...and it takes too much time for me to tweak it the way I do with XP. To make it work normally...me and Vista - never gonna happen
Windows 7 and Windows XP professional are good operating Systems . Vista is good , but many of us doesn't have enough RAM and graphics to run this crap . XP mode is new feature which is going to be introduced in Windows 7 , which would run Windows XP applications compatible with Windows 7 .
yes but you might not like it. There are too many details to list. I would stay with XP for another year (even though I have vista)
I continually use WinXP until my computer breaks down and must buy a new. Then I will install WinVista.
previously when i first change my OS to Vista, feel uncomfortable. However, after use it for certain time, i found Vista is better than XP
