    I've tried windows 7
But I'm currently using windows vista. And I would say that windows vista is much better than windows 7. It has better graphics and better hardware utilization whereas windows 7 is only better in networking.

No not yet. I'm pretty happy with vista 64bit. My only complaint is firefox has ui delays using vista compared to xp.

Win 7 is good but due to it been only in a BETA state, I wouldnt want to risk using it on my main machine.

Also i assume there would be a few compatability issues.

Its clearly not.. I use WinXP 64bit on my workstation and OS X 10.5.6 Leo on my MacBook Pro..

But I tried it and it feels pretty good, and the ressource-consumption is much better than Vista's.. even better than XP's I think..

Windows 7 is a new OS, so it might be some software aren't compatible with it.

I prefer to Windows XP SP3.
