    Hi viamtech,

I do not have windows 7 (yet?) so I am really interested in knowing why you believe that it is the best. What are the features and functionalities that make it better than others?
I would really appreciate some feedback :)

I use both Mac OS and Windows 7,

Id like to say Windows 7 is the best windows yet, alot of things that vista should have been.

Mac is great as well very easy and straight forward

I have a macbook pro and a desktop pc

windows 7 is very good though I really like the search thing (maybe not new) but it certainly works when I am searching for files the same way it works in Mac

other then that I have not used it enough yet.

I started using Windows 7 and I can say it is better, faster and more reliable than XP. The most of experiences I've heard of were good, but I also heard cases when people installed W7 and nothing worked (sound, for example), so people switched back to XP where they don't have problems... I don't know what the cause for this is, but it seems that sometimes XP works where W7 experiences difficulties.

I am not sure about Vista for I didn't use it. Windows 7 is, as I can say, pretty similar to Vista, but drivers support is better I think. I think that Windows 7 in general requires less resources to run than previous Windows. I think it runs better on the same computer comparing to XP. When a stops responding, only that program is blocked, not the whole computer like on XP. You still get to use other opened programs with no problem, you don't experience global slowdown like on XP. And I never got that rare but annoying message that I should put back a cd (which I took out an hour ago) like it used to happen on XP.

I wouldn't agree that Windows 7 i lame. I don't know much about linux, but we had it in my company and we had a lot of problems. I may not be expert, but when you want to something in Windows it usually works flawlessly, but on linux network sometimes worked and sometimes didn't. I don't know why that happened but it did. On Windows when you set up something it usually works as it should.

Linux is promising, but still misses the fine tuning. Compare open office and Microsoft office and you'll know what I mean.

We usually don't like Microsoft, but I don't think they are worse than Google. Two big companies struggling for proffit, what's the difference?

I am waiting on a new laptop which happens to have Windows 7 installed, as we speak. My old laptop was out of date anyway, so of course didn't pay out just for an O/S. I'm looking forward to using the split scren functionality, it will help a lot when I am researching and writing new articles for my website.

    I use Lenovo X61, and tried XP, XP64, Vista, Vista64, W7 x64.

Personally I prefer xp64 over everything, the only thing that makes me use w7 x64 is the lenovo power manager doesn't run under xp x64.

W7 is better compared with vista, but I am not sure if it is the best version of windows.

Vista x64 is bad, but I don't think it is that bad.
