Is WhoisGuard worthless?

I was searching for information and I went to this website and it gave me all the person's information including name address and phone for domains. If you pay for WhoisGuard, why is this information there? Does this make the service worthless?

Here is the site : http://www.whois.sc/

I thought that all the information was hidden if you had WhoisGuard.

You must've searched for a neme without private registeration. I just tried it, and it's showing as private.

I noticed that your domain names are from Namecheap, although the Whois Protection comes free which each domain name you purchase through them, it is not automatically enable.

Namecheap Whois Protection is however not attached to a specific domain name, you can use all of yours for 1 particular domain name or a few or for every one or even none.

What you need to do is to Login and go to Manage Domains. Under WhoisGuard, click on 'Unused Subscription'. This will show the WhoisGuard which is assigned to your account. Then just either Assign it to one of your domain or use it to Extend the one which is already assigned.

Assign would add Whois Guard to that domain name. Extend who extend the WhoisGuard subscription for that already assigned domain name by the expiration of the unused Whois Guard.

Hope that helps. If you do not assign the WhoisGuard, they are sitting there pretty and not doing anything.

Did you specifically assigned the WhoIs Guard to the domain name in question ?

I did when I purchased the domain but seems that now it is not marked in Namecheap. I know it was when I purchased it because I checked ..hmm guess it is a Namecheap problem. I know I haven't changed anything, so I am not sure how it got changed.

Checking to include the WhoIs Guard option (even when free) does not link it to the domain name. You need to explicitly assigned it in the Namecheap Control Panel.

Maybe the WhoIs Guard expired if you had assigned it in the past.

Sorry about that. When I first used Namecheap, I assumed the Whois Guard was enabled automatically and left them like that for months till I figured I need to do it manually. Thus that is why I mentioned what I mentioned.

I checked my domain names which had WhoIs Guard enabled and they are showing Namecheap Info instead of mine.
