What he said was true? 1) You can keep copying articles. -That is true, but not legal. I can break into houses, but just because I can does not make it legal. 2) I do not believe in copyright stuff for content. -It is true he doesn't believe in it, but copyright is specifically designed for content (contnet is writtings, music, literature, etc...). Copyright is all about content. He may not believe in it, but hey, there are people that believe the world is flat. Belief does not make fact. What he was implying, that copying articles without permission or even copying substantial chunks of articles is legal, is false.
I see what you are saying. I made it so I only get about 5 sentences of the article, and there is a backlink. Thanks for your advice.
there is very tiny line between legal and illegal on internet... Im also rewriting other peoples articles, soemtimes i take small aprt fo they article and add my stuff to it, add few pictures, lines and stuff, i always put link to original article!!! also im trying to use smaller sites not well known by allot people so article is somehow unqiue to many people. Anyway i have familiar question: if i translate article from my language to english and vice versa, is that legal?
That may still constitute infringement (particularly if the first few sentences contain the most meaningful part of the article). Especially if you have ads on your blog. However, it is unlikely that you will be sued for this (possible, but not likely). However, I would remove article clips if the content holder requests it to be removed. @dadaas - You would have to check your country's laws. In the US it is still considered to be copyright infringement if you rewrite articles, make additions to articles, or translate articles.
I am going to chime in and just say that you should listen to bluegrass special he knows what he is talking about. Articles bits can be used in a blog in order to "reference" the material. It's when the bulk of your work is really just someone else's work that infringement becomes an issue. There is something called fair-use and you can read more about it at places like Wikipedia. Essentially it helps to outline when you can use material that's copyrighted legally for your own purpose.
